Good morning, to you all! Okay, so, good afternoon! Hehehe. It's a partly cloudy day again, but every time that sun comes out for a peek at the world, for a few minutes, I just love it. It's not that cold, but prolly in the lower 60's. I am thinking maybe a chance for showers this evening, but prolly not heavy. We had our AWANAs last night. We had more this time than we ever did! 9 Cubbies in our class last night!!! We normally average around 6 Cubbies, so we seem to be growing, praise God! Sparkies and Truth and Training age groups in AWANAs, total over 100 together, and then there is our teeny tiny age group for the youngest Awana age group with just 6 normally, so when 9 children show up in our class, I am exhilirated!!! On a dull point, I realize that when you do programs and you work with children, you also deal with the parents, some wonderful, some nice, some civil, some rude and some down right mean. I dealt with, for the first time ever, a mean one last night. A Grandma. Her granddaughter is in my class and she's not completely potty trained and so they always leave some pull ups in her bag with us when ever she has an accident. Well, the child had an accident a couple weeks ago, in which she messed her pants and were ruined, so of course, the logical thing I did was grab a pull up out of her bag and put it on her. Would you have done the same? Yes. That's what pull ups are for. Well, this lady was having a very bad day, as her husband, I found out later, he was in surgery earlier that day and he did ok, but she was stressed. But, before I found this out after the Grandmother's ranting, I thought she was off her rocker. But really, I think I was a convenient vent for her to take out on. She chewed me out for using a pull up and said I was confusing her granddaughter..........well, I kept on smiling at her and apologized for the mistake and that next time she needs to let us know of any special instuctions so the rest of us will know, too. The grandma told me that the mother (her daughter) "freaked out" because I put on pull ups. Why even put pull ups in the bag, if you don't want them used? Ugh.....what else was I supposed to put on her? There were no extra clothes and there were only pull ups, so I assumed they put in the bag for accidents.....oh well. So, the other ladies that were in the class room with me were confused about this lady's reasons for chewing me out. Of course, the Grandmother pulled me off to a quieter location to chew me out and I later discussed it with the two ladies working with me. My theory is the lady thought I was just some teenager who was helping out in AWANAs, that she thought she could rant at and leave it at that. She didn't realize I was a leader and had a 5 year old daughter and when I told her, she got this surprised look on her face and then just kinda looked at her shoes for a minute. I told her I understand how hard it is to potty train a child, that I have a 5 year old daughter who I potty trained and so I would do my best to remember not to put on the pull ups on her grandchild next time she has an accident, so as not to confuse her, but could they please put an extra set of clothes in her bag and leave out the pull ups, in case some one else makes the same mistake. I think the lady thought she could just grab some teen and take out her frustrations out on her, thinking she would just take it and not say anything to the leaders. Unfourtunately, she picked on the wrong person. I am not a naive and immature as I look. Oh well, I understand her being frazzled about her poor hubby going through surgery and so I forgive her for acting the way she did. I know it's easy to fall into moments of weakness during hard times. I have been there. Later, after class, I was headed over to pick up my daughter from Sparks and I ran into the mother of the child the grandmother was chewing me out about. The mother was very nice to me and said nothing of any pull up- mishaps......Hmmmmmm.....
Anyways, so that was my night last night. Today will be a relaxing day today. I could use a nap this afternoon, though! Hehe. Oh, I talked to my hubby this morning and he's doing good! Two and a half more weeks to go!!! Yee haaaa! Lol.
I hope everyone's day is going well . Take care and God bless you all,
