My favorite dream where nothing's really as it seems

Aug. 22, 2009 -

'Ello. I may not be writing for a while. I haven't really been in the mood to sit down at the computer.

Oh by the way, the polo match was cool. America played Jamaica an America won: 9-8...I think.

Aug. 15, 2009 - a very breif Bible Camp summary

Sorry I haven't been able to write this past week. It's been so awesome. On Sunday the day was full with Bible camp set-up...after Mass of course.
Then the first day of Jesus to the Rescue began on Monday. When I got in I found out that I had been switched to the Green Group with my friend Ashley. The first day went well and the kids in our group were not rambunctious. They even did the dances!
For the second day I performed a monologue. I was Shadrach talking about the fiery furnace. The first 2 times I messed up alot, but the third time I did really well. That's because I did it for my group, so I was more comfortable. Then I just rushed through the 4th one.
The third day was the day when all the kids misbehaved. Running into parking lots, not listening to the adults (when they are telling a story), and making me wonder where their good behavior went. We got through though.
The 4th day was better and all went smoothly.
The 5th day was the last and I was sort of sad to leave. But I was glad I wouldn't be so tired anymore. All the parents came for the big finale when we would perform all the songs/dances we learned. I think it went well, though some may say different. When that was over we had to start breaking down. After some work and pizza, we got home at about 3:30...or at least that's what time I looked at  the clock; it may have been earlier.
All in all, Bible Camp this year was great and I hope it will be like this (or better) next year!

P.S.- We are going to a polo match tonight. I wonder what it will be like.

Aug. 8, 2009 - A book review, bible camp update, and the week's adventures

Hello all who are reading this! I read one of the worst books (in my opinion) of all my life! Some of you may have read it and liked it, or will read it and like it, but I really, really don't like it. "It" is Dream Wars written by Adam Brunetti. It was a big hit here in Woonsocket because the author lives in this little city. I don't know if the hype was mostly because of the author or the book. The book is about a boy who went into his dreams, where humans were battling mythical creatures (i.e.- Minators, centaurs, and elves). Due to the fact that the villians were the mythical creatures (my favorite characters) I absoballylutely hated the book. Read it if you like, but if your opinion is the same as mine, I warned you.

In my last entry, when I wrote about Bible Camp, I forgot to mention the theme this year. We are doing "Jesus to the Rescue". It is rescue themed, like army, firefighters, policemen, and most of all Jesus and The Church! On Wednesday we had a meeting for the youth. I found out that I am one of 3 group leaders for the Orange Group.
This past week my Dad was on vacation. On Tuesday we went to the cliff walk. We almost got to two miles before my little brother's feet hurt. On Thursday we went to the Boston Museam of Science. We were there almost all day and we didn't get to finish one wing! That is a big place... with alot to see and read! Yesterday, Friday, we went bowling. I came in fourth...out of four. It was my first time bowling without the bumpers, and my littele brother still had them, so it would have evened out if he didn't have them. My score over two games was 108. At least I made it to the hundreds.

Aug. 3, 2009 -

Halloo! I haven't been on the computer since...awhile ago. My grandfather died last Monday. The wake was that Thursday and the funeral was Friday. Please include him and us (the family) in your prayers.
From the 10th-14th my parish is having our annual Vacation Bible Camp. I have yet to find out what I will be doing for it. I hope to be a group leader though.
Our new thing around the house started this morning. It is "respect my nose". When my little brother wants to do something, he keeps after you until you say yes to him. Today my mother told him to "respect my 'no'". It quickly turned into "no's" and then to "nose".
That's all for now! Stay tuned for more.

Jul. 21, 2009 - Mainly Redwall

Nothing really interesting has happened since my last entry, but I am excited about one thing. I know I planned to read classics over the summer, but I broke and picked up a Redwall book. The Redwall series (written by Brian Jacques) is about woodland animals fighting off vermin (what the "bad guys" are called) and protecting their home: Redwall Abbey. Sometimes the view is switched to focus in on one character's quest and where they go, not nessecarily a certain place. Other times  the story will take place in the mountain Salamandastron, home of the Badger lords. Anyway I have read 16 of the books and the one I'm reading now (my 17th, that is) is Salamandastron. By the way, if you are interested in the series, there is no certain order to the books, although most people start with Redwall. It was the first one published.

Jul. 15, 2009 - Hello

I am converting my old blog the hard way and this is my almost converted one. I'll be posting my old entries and their comments. Here's the first one.

Feb. 8, 2009

My brother's birthday

Today was my younger brother's (Joe) birthday party. Tomorrow will be his actual brithday. He will be a whole 7 years old, even though he acts like 3 most of the time. I tried to stay with my nephew (Xavier) and my oldest sister (Marie). Even a group of 6 younger kids is like a tornado. When they had spare time and there were balloons in the room, they had ballloon fights.  I tell you, I just wanted to run up to my room, but then chances are, they would follow me. I need to go eat supper now. I think we are having pizza.

Comment by ArcherforGod- Oh my. That sounds really loud. How are you? I haven't seen you in about... two weeks or so. I'm fine only I sprained my ankle on the trampoline yesterday and it still hurts. LG and I were acting out Prince Caspian when it happened.

Sickness and the Doctor's

Lately I have had a cough and today it was worse than ever accompliced with a runny nose and higher temperture than usual. My average is somewhere around 96.5 and today it was 97.3. Well, I was tired even when I had gone out into the cold, so I stayed home from school. When I went to the doctor's, they recommended a few cough surpressents and to take it easy for about a week. I wish I hadn't stayed home and gone to the doctor's because I won't be able to participate in gym this week. My little sickness isn't much to worry about, so it's not like I'm dying. All the same, please keep me in your prayers so that I can get better or get worse so I can get some real medicine to recover.

Comment by forerunner-you like fencing? cool! I like fighting too, though I normally specialize in urban warfare and the design of new age firearms.

Clubs at school, relief of my sickness, and a wedding

It looks like I haven't been on for a while. I was going to go on the computer, but I gave up technology for Lent. Now that it is the fifth Sunday of Lent, I remembered that you can use or eat what you gave up on Sundays. My cough didn't last very long after I wrote. Thank you for your prayers. I joined drama at my school a while back. Very surprisingly, I actually got a part in the play we're doing. It is "Sir Gawain and the Green Knight". My part is Lady  Lilly. I like it even though she only has 20-25 lines. I started a Writer's Club at my school also. There weren't many people who sighed up, so I am in that club too. This Tuesday will be the third session. All that changed since I last wrote was the books I read. Oh! I almost forgot! Yesterday I served a wedding. Everything went fine. The groom remembered the rings and the bride wasn't very late. I think she was on time. We went to the reception after. It was at Coachman's Lounge. The meal and tables were really fancy, but the yard was nice. There was a lake on the opposite side. I spent most of the time outside after the meal. It was fun, but I would have liked for the dessert to have three courses like the meal.

Comment by Dragonfly1997- Sorry for not writing in a very long time. I gave up computer for Lent as you already know. It's pronounced Sidas.

Finishing summer work and vacations

Hello after about five months.
School ended on June 22nd. My school over the summer finished earlier than usual too. On my very, very easy math worksheet (for entering 8th grade) there were only 39 problems, so I did the whole thing the 2nd day out of school. Summer reading was no where near as annoying as last year. Our choices were The Contender and Tangerine. I read Tangerine. It wasn't a bad book, But it's not one I would have picked out myself. I finished the book within the second week of summer vacation.
I don't have any plans for the summer. I will be going on many short vacations this year though. I've already had a delightful time in Wonderland. I'll be leaving for Neverland either tonight or tomorrow morning. Other trips I may be going on are to  Sherwood forest, Oz, England, a lost island, all around the world, and to the center of the Earth. Okay, so I'll stay cooped up in my room reading for the summer. But I'm reading something "out-of -the-box" for me: Classics!
There is one week in particular I'll be at my parish. And that is for Vacation Bible Camp! The theme this year is "Jesus to the Rescue". On Tuesday I'll be performing a monologue(is that how it is spelt?) as Shadrach talking about the Fiery Furnace. I don't know what I'll be doing for the rest of the week though...
I suppose you're all caught up on summer and everything that may come with it.

≈Andrea

P.S.- I'll send you a postcard from Neverland.

Update on Neverland trip

So far, the traveling has not been what I expected. It was a little uncomfortable, and expecting great comfort, I was somewhat taken off-guard. Well, that's all for now.

P.S.- I'm having fun with this whole "reading is my vacation" thing.

What today was like

I am in Neverland, but I haven't had any time to visit any sights. I met the Lost Boys and Captain Jas. Hook (and company). I was told about the Lost Boys' home, but haven't seen it for myself yet.

Today has been an unusually eventful day. I was bored (as usual) so I decided to make up this island on paper. The name isn't very original, but it will do for now: Myimagination. Another thing happened while I went outside to play badminton a little while ago. The birdie (or "shuttlecock" if you prefer) landed near our stairs, where there are alot of tiny thornbushes. Well, they're not exactly thornbushes. They're more like baby thornbushes that haven't grown much yet. Anyway, when I leaned over to get the birdie/shuttlecock, I sat on one of them. Now I have a thorn stuck "where the person meets the saddle" as Hoss from Bonanza would say. Luckily, I can still sit down even though I couldn't remove the thorn.

Comment by NarnianQueen07- When you describe your "unfortunate event" that way, it sound quite funny! Sorry, I shouldn't be laughing. I know if it had happened to me, I would probably be crying.

Last but not least.

Nothing Much

First of all, here is the postcard.

Yay! My first time putting a picture on here worked! Well, I made it a few days ago and now I'm done the book. Now I'm reading Grimm's Fairy Tales. It's more like a book than an adventure.

A little while ago I started making a house sort of thing in my basement out of cardboard boxes. I finished it tonight after supper and I'm proud of it. I'll probably have to tear it down in a few days though, because it takes up all of the room to the right of our downstairs.
I want to redecorate my blog, but I can't get it to work for me. That should be obvious because right now my title is "". See, I tried to delete my title, but when I did that came up instead.

≈Andrea

It's not the most organized entry I've written, but it's still understandable...right?
