Permibus Tour
I guess I have been as busy as I have felt lately. My last post was two weeks ago ...
We had a fun time yesterday visiting a hs friend who was hosting the Permibus.
www.permibus.org
They brought chickens, a redworm bin, a puppet show and talked about a variety of the things they have been involved in during their travels. The puppet show was really fun - the kids and adults were entralled and all sat during the entire show.
I had a lovely time talking to a good friend's mum who is visiting from England. It was special to see the two of them together as they hadn't had a visit for a good many years.
Of course I forgot my camera. I was late and ran almost out of gas on the way out there. : {
Nevertheless, we arrived during the little talk on chickens. Later, while Toby took his down time, I went into the bus, saw their grey water herb tubes, their little wood stove and recycled emergency blanket window coverings and had a bit of a visit with the bus driver. (They have a LOT of books on there and three dogs too. )
I had a tour about our hostess' plantings of brocolli, squash, tomatoes, and her stick built greenhouse. Neat. She is using compost from a mushroom farm. Her brocolli is really good.
We stayed much later than we planned and I felt a little guilty for arriving home so late. |

May. 21, 2009 - Planting..
I'm planting my other beds this morn. just now finishing up one and moving on to the next after this short break. I have melons, squash, zucchini, okra and corn left to plant. Unfortunately, my broccoli didn't do well. I think it was too wet. We had 20+ days of rain; much of it causing flash flooding. I may retry planting since I have so many seeds and see what happens.
Hope you have a blessed day!
