Under the Maple Tree

• Sep. 16, 2005 - Healing rain...

God is so good...and so real, and so faithful. I just needed to write about that today, and give Him all the praise and glory. There are times in life when struggles and trials come our way, and things seem very bleak, but that little light of hope still shines deep down there somewhere. The trick is to grab that little light, hold onto it, and bring it out bigger and brighter than ever, believing that all of God's word is true, and it is the same yesterday, today and forever! The Lord has been showing me so many things lately, and every time, I am so humbled, and cannot believe in my humanness, how I could have ever doubted Him, again! Thank you Lord, for sticking with me, even when I doubt how much you can and will do!

Just recently I was going through a time when things seemed dark in many areas. But somewhere, in the back of my mind, I saw that light of hope, glimmering. How did I bring light back into the darkness? Prayer. That is it. Healing came, and I am in awe. What an awesome God we serve!

In light of the Hurricane, this quote keeps coming to mind, which is one I love, and often think of:

"Stop telling God how big your storm is, instead tell your storm how BIG your God is."

It is a mindset that God wants us all to have. God is BIG enough to do so much more than we can ever imagine!

Blessings!!!

I have enjoyed reading your posts. You have a very interesting life. I loved reading about your place on your porch. I can relate. I have a place like that, too. It is the best!!!

The Lord be with you as you seek to serve Him and raise up your precious children for His glory!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm glad that I have *found* yours now too. It sounds like you all do have a lot going on with your land! There is always a never ending list of things to do for us, but it is important to enjoy what you've already completed along the way. Thanks for reminding me. I'm also going to try and let others know about that Coping with Homeschooling Yahoo group. That sounds wonderful. I have many friends who might be interested in that. Some definitely have a tougher row to plow than others, but God's grace is always sufficient and the blessings are extra sweet I think.
Blessings,

About Me

My front porch is my new favorite place to be...to pray, to fellowship with friends, to listen, to teach, and to learn. I am looking forward to all that the Lord sends my way, as I now have a quiet place to go, to listen to God in the stillness of my front porch under the maple tree.
