Catching Up

~

I haven't posted in quite a while.  We've been doing pretty mundane things like really focusing on our daily math, grammar, word study....

~

I'm just going to post a row of pictures and maybe a few captions and that will pretty much catch you up!

My daughter dressed up the dog so she could stay warm playing in the snow too!

We studied Phase (Physical) Changes in Science by melting solid pieces of chocolate into liquid then remolding into a new solid shape, watching solid ice cubes change to a liquid and then evaporate into a gas, learned how popcorn pops (a tiny drop of water inside the kernel expands when heated and then it explodes!), microwaved baggies of ice cubes to see what would happen and we froze water in nitrile gloves to convert a liquid to a solid (then the kids peeled the gloves off and floated the frozen hand shapes in their baths - hmmm, strange I know, but they had fun!)

Yep, just what hubby wanted to see when he went to get his ice cream!

We are now just starting to learn about chemical changes and did the classic "lava" experiment this week. Here's the picture that's going in their science notebook:

Hi Thanks for stopping by my blog. I see by the picture of your daughter in the box reading that she likes Beacon Street books. My daughter enjoys them too. Let me know how the hammer watching goes. I know that where there is a will you had best watch out!! LOL Hope you visit again.

I love all the "sceincey" things you are doing. I wish I would do more of those :)

It always looks as though your family has a lot of fun!

Hope you are having a great day,
Stacy
