My family just celebrated the end of the season of my eight year old daughter playing the youngest orphan, Molly, in the musical "Annie" in one of our local community theaters! After twelve performances, many hugs, new friends, laughs, mic checks, mistakes, standing ovations, congratulations, exhaustion, exhileration, and now some tears...this part of our lives is over and will forever be a treasured memory for all of us. For it took the efforts of each one of us in our family to support our daughter in this experience. And what an awesome experience. Musical theater is a great venu for teaching kids many things besides singing, dancing, and acting. I see it as a "Team Sport" without the mud! Every show is only as successful as all the cast is in working together. I am so very proud of my daughter and all that she has accomplished through this show and am excited to support her in her future endeavors in theater...that is, after a bit of R & R (rest and relaxation) for all of us!!!! |
