Aug. 30, 2007 - This is my first blog entry..here goes

Hi.. I just started this last night and am still trying to figure this stuff out.

Here is a little about myself: I'm 38, married to my wonderful husband Mark and we have two children. Riley is 5 and his sister Katie Rose is 3. I have always read wonderful things about homeschooling and really believe that it's the way to go. And here I am.... about to start homeschooling Riley. We are still waiting for our curriculum (YES!) but we have started working on a few things since last week.

Before kids I was a midwife (CNM) and now I work very part time (once or twice a month).  I love babies, pregnant mamas, birth and the whole process!  Every birth is amazing.

I came to this site because all of our friends start public school last week and we are feeling lonely. But I do feel that this is the best for my son and our family. I am just praying for patience and wisdom.

I'm sure you'll love it here! You can glean lots of information from the other bloggers, and I'm sure you'll make lots of new friends too.

Good luck to you as your start your homeschooling journey. Just remember to relax and have fun. Your son is still young~ so go easy and enjoy your times with him.

Welcome. I hope you enjoy your time here on Homeschoolblogger. It takes a while to settle in but it is good to read so many other people's homeschooling adventures.
I noticed on your bio that you are a midwife. That's great. My daughter will begin her nursing studies next year and she wants to become a midwife after that. I know a homebirth midwife in the States, Mary Burleson from Midwifery institute of America. I began her midwifery correspondance course a while back, but have yet to finish it.
Praying all goes well for you in your homeschooling journey.
