To enter you just post your favorite Christmas memory as a parent.
My favorite Christmas memory is of 2004. South Texas had a freak snow storm, something that happens every 50-100 years depending on who you ask. On Christmas Eve, my boys and I were getting ready to go to my sister's house for dinner. She called me up and told me to plan on spending the night, because they were predicting snow. They thought it would be better for me not to have to drive in the snow late at night. It wasn't until after we had put the boys to bed that it really started snowing. We had seen snow and played in it when we lived in CA. But it had been so long that we were pretty excited. We were calling all kinds of people to tell them. Then the three of us adults went out and played in it. My bil got pictures of us, the car, their street sign (Pebble Beach Dr.) covered in snow. It was awesome.
When we got up the next morning, we dressed the boys up as warm as we could considering we don't own things like snow suits. We took them out and made snow angels, mini snowmen, and had snowball fights. We walked around the neighborhood until they got too cold. Then we went in and ate breakfast and opened gifts. |
