is having a contest. Well, actually 12 of them listed on 12 different blogs, hence the name. This one is on Just Some Stuff.
- How many children do you have / homeschool? 2/2
- How long have you been homeschooling? This is our third year.
- Have they always been homeschooled, or did they ever go to public/private school? E did one semester in public and 3 1/2 years in private. K did 3 years private.
- Do you plan on homeschooling until graduation? Heck yeah.
- Do you belong to a co-op? No
- Do you school all year long, or use some other schedule? I loosely do the ps schedule. We tend to start earlier, take more breaks, and go longer. I am wanting to officially go year round next year though.
- Do you use textbooks only, or do you like to supplement with other materials? I am very eclectic and use all sorts of resources.
- Are field trips included in your school plans, or are they just family time? This year I haven't really done any field trips, but usually I schedule a few here and there.
- Do you and your kids do crafty stuff together for school time? Yes, see previous posts. K loves arts and crafts.
- Would you consider everyday household life stuff ‘home ec’? We do some. We actually had kind of an agriculture/horticulture day this week. (Mowing and planting some plants that I was given.)
- Do you have any advice for new homeschoolers? Be flexible. If it's not working, find a new game plan. Also, it's ok to have a day off for emotional meltdowns yours or the kids.
- Do you have advice for homeschoolers with little ones under foot? Not really. I have only done it one day and it was a mistake. I should have started on a day that I was not babysitting my niece.
