Home Again
Feb. 4, 2008 - The Craziness Just Goes On and On
Does life ever slow down? Every time that I think it is going to, I turn out wrong. My best friend is home and we have seen each other almost every day. I think only twice we haven't. Sometimes it is just to go to Wal-Mart together, sometimes our kids are playing together, and sometimes we are just eating dinner together.
We delivered a baby Thursday night. A girl, 8lbs. 5oz. It was for a really sweet, young couple.
And to top it off, I just started seeing someone new. I have tried not to mention to much about my so-called "romantic" life on my blog. I know many Christians have different views on dating, courting, etc. I had mentioned a boyfriend before.
Well, what I hadn't mentioned was that right after E's dad came to visit the end of July, I broke up with him. While E's dad was here, I got a taste of what real family life could be like. I really enjoyed it. I also knew that I would never have that with the guy that I was with.
More recently, I have just been keeping an eye out for single men. I haven't not been running across too many. My church is very small and the ones that are single are way younger than me. And when you always have your kids with you, it is hard to meet people.
Well, a friend of mine had introduced me to a guy named Tom about 5 years ago. He never seemed interested in me. I was ok with that, because I wasn't interested either. Then about 2 years ago, I met Tom's twin brother. Very nice guy, seemed more my type. Timing wasn't right. Fast forward a year. Last spring, Charles (Tom's twin) helped coach K's baseball team. Fast forward to August. Charles signed his son up for Cub Scouts. I have been seeing them occasionally for Cub Scout related events. I have been trying to get him to be involved in leadership, since we desperately need people helping out.
He agreed and then asked for my phone number (which I give to all new leaders) in case he had any questions. Several weeks later, he called and asked me to dinner.
So for the last two weeks, I have seen and/or talked to him frequently. I am very excited it, but it does cut out some of that extra free time. |
