We finally delivered a baby yesterday. We had too long of break. Things went pretty well until the end. We had a little trouble getting the baby out. Mom had eaten too much sugar with this pregnancy and ended up with a baby that was a little too big for her. Plus his hand was up for a lot of the labor. He got it down before coming out though. If she had been in the hospital, she definitely would have ended up with a C-Section. Next time, we will have to be really strict with her on her diet.

I want to have a home birth, but I can not afford a mid-wife. I REALLY DO NOT want to go to the hospital, but unless God does something to intervene, I reckon I will be going there when my baby desides to come! {Which I am due Sept. 12th!}

19 years ago I had my daughter at home with a midwife and it was the best experience ever! I didn't use any pain killers at all. I have beautiful memories of it. I was 31 at the time, then 10 years later at age 41, I gave birth to my son...but in a hospital this time since we had moved to a small town that didn't have midwives. But it was a rough birth....and I had to have an epidural. He is now almost 9 years old and we feel so blessed to have 2 wonderful children.

That is so awesome that you get to help deliver babies! What a miracle the gift of life God has given us!
Earlier this year, God revealed to me that I am going to open a crisis pregnancy shelter sometime in the future. Being a young teenager right now, I was wondering what I could do now to prepare me for this calling. Do you have any advice?
