| Yesterday, I was having contractions. Well, I have never had Braxton Hicks with my previous pregnancies, so I panicked a little. I was already in Corpus a few blocks from my midwife's house/office. So after 1 1/2 hours of this, I called her and went to her office. I wasn't dilating, so she recommended that I get some rest, drink lots of water, and maybe have a wine cooler. We ended up having to skip violin lessons. But by the time that I got home they had totally slowed down. Pretty soon after that they stopped. Which is a good thing. #1 A baby can survive this early, but we would have been spending a lot of time in the children's hospital. #2 My midwife had to go deliver a baby, so she wouldn't have been able to go to the hospital with me if I had had to go. |
