Mar. 12, 2009 -

Sharing some more of our homeschool notebooking with you!

Morgan-Britney our oldest child is doing a bird notebook. We have several different bird feeders in our backyard. It's great to be able to incorporate them into her notebook.

Quentin  (8) read in his science text and then notebooked what he read.

Mar. 4, 2009 - Zucchini Bread!!

Today my almost 13 year old son made 3 loaves of very yummy zucchini bread! He did a great job and we all couldn't stop eating it!

We just incorporate cooking right into our learning. I am so excited that my two oldest boys are asking to cook now. It's still exciting to see my children learn new things!

Mar. 2, 2009 - downloading woes..

I have been looking for a good science notebooking curriculum for younger elementary. I found something I liked today and it was very cheap. I purchased it and they sent me the download links. Then I tried to download it and my computer didn't like that idea so now I have to wait to hear back from the company about what to do??

I was able to get the bible study and tea ebook I bought to download by opening my email with Mozilla. Thank goodness.

About 4 miles outside the place we live is a little town and in this little town there is a baptist church and in this baptist church is a homeschool book store!! I was able to go check it out on Friday and for a small store there is alot of good stuff. I can't wait to get back and take my time looking. Wouldn't you know I got there right at closing! :(

Feb. 18, 2009 - Great books..

Last Friday I pulled out my KONOS Volume 1 and decided to again use this with my 10,8,6 yr. olds. I chose to start right into the obedience unit. We're studying the Bible and Light houses. We picked up lots of great books at the library on Friday to use with our study. I am looking forward to learning all about lighthouses right along with them!

Josiah and Zeke are reading some good fiction stories which take place in the Civil War to go along with their Civil War study.

Anna Sunday by Sally M. Keehn

All Their Names Were Courage by Sharon Phillips Denslow

Morgan has been doing a nature study on birds. We found a very BIG Audobon book at the library which includes a cd of songs each bird sings and what they sound like. It's very neat!

Here is a link to it ..

She is also reading a guide to birds native to IN.

Her artwork in her nature journal is just beautiful! She draws so well!
