Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set the example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity. I Timothy 4:12

Emotions

This is going to be an odd entry. I just realized that it is very easy and fun to write about emotion (or emotionally), so I’m going to, just for fun. Maybe it’ll give you an idea of my priorities.

ELATION
Elation is seeing a 96% written at the top of your algebra.
Elation is realizing that tomorrow is sleep-in day.
Elation is being asked to teach a song or mirror a chorus.
Elation is seeing or talking to a friend whom you haven’t contacted in a long time.
Elation is getting that one idea that you need to finish the chapter or paragraph or sentence.

AGONY
Agony is seeing/hearing your family fighting or using harsh words.
Agony is knowing that you’ve let a close friend down.
Agony is saying goodbye.
Agony is not being able to help someone who is in trouble.
Agony is knowing that you’ve been a bad example.

ENCOURAGING
Encouraging is hearing, "That’s just what I needed to hear."
Encouraging is being told you are special.
Encouraging is being able to encourage others.
Encouraging is seeing the answer to a prayer.
Encouraging is the Word of God.

DISAPPOINTING
Disappointing is missing church.
Disappointing is not getting that big part (hey, at least I’m honest!).
Disappointing is seeing a 74% written at the top of your algebra.
Disappointing is not being able to identify.
Disappointing is getting 2nd place.

I’m going to bed now. I have to get up early to go to my first Chinese lesson. Hopefully now you have a better idea of what matters to me.

Thanks, God, for emotions. Admittedly, they can get a bit annoying at times, but I am so appreciative that I have them and am able to express how I feel. Thanks for being with me as I try to keep my emotions in check and know when to let them out. And thanks for understanding. That’s really cool.

Your kid, Mime4Jesus

Those were some really cool lists. It is interesting to see what things make you feel those emotions versus maybe what things make me feel ____. Some were the same, some were different, but it shows how we are all unique, but still all experience the same emotions. Thanks for sharing!

LOVE YOU!

Thanks for the comment! Too bad you can't attend the leadership camp though. : (

But you'll never believe what I'm about to say next:

I just finished a workshop that was coming through my area for the California Mission Trip, and you'll never guess who I met!

Your sister, Katie!!!!!

At first I didn't recognize her, but I knew I had seen her face somewhere before.....
I finially remembered seeing her picture on your teams website, and I asked her if she and her sister (you) had a blog on homeschoolblogger.
I will be seeing her and the team again at the Leadership Camp. Too bad you can't come. : (

Anyways, thanks again for the comment! Gotta' Go!

Great list! Wow.. I think there is something we can all relate to.

It's SO good seeing you back around SL. I think you "older" members really make it a better place. I almost cried seeing you post again. =] It's comforting to know that all the mature people haven't left. I remember when I first joined, you'd be the only one on when I'd get on in the mornings. I enjoyed reading through all your posts you had left.

But anyway, thanks for coming back, I think you are needed and loved there.

Emotions. What amazing, powerful gifts God has given us! I want to echo Kaitlin - thanks for sharing! I enjoy getting to know you better, even if I don't talk to you or see you much.

Love,
Clar (my new nickname, courtesy of Lizzy - now all the girls on my team call me that! =)

P.S. Keep posting those journal entries from ECMT. You haven't gotten to B'burg yet!!

Featured Song

I learned how to hold you when you cried / I learned how to let you be strong / I learned how to calm you in the dark / I learned how to listen with my heart / I learned how to watch you grow / How will I learn to let go?
