what goes on...

Dec. 4, 2007

rain, coffee drinks, and shopping

Around where I live, it rained and rained all day without letting up! There are now a bunch of roads closed because of flooding. It hasn’t affected me, but it sure is inconvenient for a lot of people.

I babysat today. It went nicely; the boys took their naps and I was able to get some reading in. I started a book called the America and Vietnam, The Elephant and the Tiger by Albert Marrin. He’s a really good author! I read a book he wrote about Stalin and it was really straight forward and easy to understand. I haven’t done a lot of reading on the Vietnam War, and I don’t understand it much. So, I decided that I would get a couple books about it.

Well, yesterday I went shopping with my mom. Mostly just grocery and animal feed shopping. It was pouring all day yesterday also. We would get to a store, park, and by the time we walked into the store we would be soaked! It was also really cold also.

Oh, while we were shopping we stopped at Starbucks for some coffee. I love Starbucks! Their coffee is soo good. Mom and I like to stop there and get coffee when we go shopping. We usually go for the flavored coffees. Well anyway, we each got a peppermint white chocolate mocha. It was soo good! I was kind of skeptical at first because I’m not a fan of mochas, but this was really good. It did get a little sweet in the end, but it was pretty good.

I’m going to try to find a recipe or something so I can make it. It’s quite delicious. If I do find a recipe or figure out how to make it, I’ll go ahead and post the recipe.

Next week I’m getting ready to plan a gingerbread house party. Pretty much I invite my youngest 3 siblings friends over and they all assemble and decorate gingerbread houses. Where I come into the equation is making all the pieces for them to make the houses. Last year I had 5 kids over, plus my 3 sibs. They all had a nice time, so I figured I’d do it again.

Hi! Thanks for the comments! I added you to my friends list. Actually, I have thought about Ron Paul because a lot of people I know are supporting him. I agreed with a lot of his views, but the debate that I watched made me lean towards Huckabee. Hope the flooding stops! God bless,
Toni

I love war books! Especially WW2 biographies, like Anne Frank's diary and stuff.
It really doesn't depend on the author for me, just how the story goes. It has to have action, preferred with romance...:)...well, sometimes not action, and it will be a Jane Austen book. I dont really know my type, I just prefer the ones that dont put me to sleep.;)

Thank you for adding me to your friends list! I have added you to mine!
