My week in pictures

Here's my past week in pictures:

Pretty strawberry plants

Look at the size of this avocado!!! That one "slice" is the equivalent of one regular sized avocado!

I made Runzas! Buns with a hamburger, cabbage, onion, carrot filling. These are how they are suppose to look in my opinion...it's the first time they turned out this way for me!

And with the extra dough I made some "cheese balls" (I just stuffed some cheese in the center of the roll dough) and cheese empanadas. Here in Peru they will make cheese or meat filled empanadas.

Heidi and her tree. (some friends gave this to her for her birthday so it can grow along with her. :)

School Report.........
This morning Dane and I talked about the differences between Lie and Lay, Rise and Raise, and Sit and Set for English Grammar. We discovered that he and I both have trouble when using Lie and Lay. I'd ask him to Lay down and then looked down at the book to discover it should be "I lie down". Sigh. But maybe he and I will catch on as we go through the lessons together.

Arel and I went over another lesson in "First Language Lessons for the Well-Trained Mind". We really like the book! He has two poems memorized now and really has the definition of a noun down! :)

Both boys are plugging away at math as well. Arel is adding thousands now and seems to enjoy it even if it is challenging. Dane is doing very well with fractions. Some of the lessons really stretch our brains (his AND mine!) but he catches on pretty quick even when I don't sometimes.

We are in the middle of studying the Jewish People in the "Story of the World" History book. We've been focusing mostly on the people from Abraham through Joseph at this point. It has fit in nicely with our reading through Genesis.

Well, I'm off to check the laundry and work on afternoon jobs that need getting done around here.

I am at the library so I won't be able to see the pictures but I am sure they are great! I loved the other pictures! I can't wait to see the post you did about pickles! Jocelyn is going to host the next Carnival, but still send your submission to the gmail account!

Thank you again Ms. Libby!

Love,
Rachel
