Holiday Bundle
Jocelyn has a fun giveaway going on Nov. 24th through Dec. 8th. I'm joining in and I want to help her get the word out about this amazing Holiday Bundle she's giving away to 20 people! Click on the "Holiday Bundle" icon in my sidebar and check it out! You wouldn't believe all the stuff she's giving away! Wow!!!
So here's my Christmas memory:
Every year my Mom wanted to find the tallest tree we could find so that it would touch our 8 foot ceilings. If we couldn't find one that tall we'd put it on a table so it would. : ) We'd go to Christmas tree farms freezing our fingers off looking for just the right one. It didn't have to be full, just tall! Then we'd wrestle it home and inside the house getting pine needles everywhere. Then we would decorate it with all blue lights and gobs of ornaments. I remember being SO impatient waiting for Mom to get the tree on the stand and the lights on so my sister and I could put all the ornaments on. That is when Mom or someone gave us the idea to make our own ornaments for each other. During our years at home my sister and I would either make or buy an ornament to give to each other and when we moved away from home we had a nice little collection of ornaments for our first Christmas on our own. I just loved the tree with all the memories on it and the blue lights. My favorite color! It gave off a beautiful glow in the evening with all the lights off but the tree and the curtains open so you could see the white snow outside.
On Christmas morning we'd sit close to the tree as a family, maybe sing "Away in a Manger" together and Dad would read about Jesus' birth from the Bible. Then we'd give each other the presents we had for each other.
Usually the tree stayed up through New Years and many times we still had it up in Feb. or later!
