I've been tagged because...
I haven't blogged in so long, my dear friend, Raising Arrows, tagged me.
So here goes...
Share 6 unspectactular, quirky things about myself.
1. I read when I have too much to do. I am not talking about checking out for a few minutes. I am talking devouring stacks of novels when I am absolutely swamped with time-crunching deadlines. I read an untold number of mindless novels the semester I was planning my wedding (out of state) and cramming for finals for my engineering classes. I somehow always seem to meet my deadlines despite this terrible habit of checking out to a fictional world.
2. I LOVE to eat GOOD food. Now don't ask me to qualify "GOOD", but it does not involve processed garbage and it is not usually of the sweet variety...though exceptions may be made. I am talking about rich, savory, good for the soul fool...notice I didn't say good for the body. I will spend hours in the kitchen creating some yummy treat the fits the bill. I am talking savory crab dip, delicious homemade potato salad...I am sure I could go on and on...
3. I keep my house COLD in the winter. I am not talking chilly. I am talking nose numbing, hot chocolate warming COLD. I love to be able to wear a warm sweater or snuggle up with a great blanket. (As a side note, I think my kids stay MUCH healthier in the winter due to this strange habit of mine and my husband appreciates the lower energy costs.)
4. I prefer using a laundromat to having my own washer and dryer. Yes, I know this is quirky...but doing laundry only once a week and finishing it all in a matter of hours is simply marvelous.
5. I have a passion for movies. I grew up watching lots of movies and must admit that I still enjoy watching the big screen...or in my case...the small television screen playing dvds. we RARELY go to the theater. I especially like romantic tragedy...happily ever after is good, but a tragedy gets me every time.
6. I never seem to tire of staying home. Many people seem to get cabin fever, but I really enjoy just being at home and not getting out. I am not a recluse, in fact, I think I am quite sociable. However, I would almost always choose to host something in my home over going somewhere else.
