to the glory of my Abba

How Blessed Is The Man
Currently in my quiet time, I reading through Matthew, Leviticus, Proverbs, and Psalms. I just started Psalms the other day. I have read Psalm one probably more than any other psalm, but for some reason, it really grabbed me when I was reading it.

1How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.

3He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.

4The wicked are not so,
But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.

5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.

(NASB)

I tried really hard not to skim over it but to really meditate and savor each verse. Psalm one sets the tone for all the psalms. It is a jewel of Scripture that I am very guilty of ignoring. With the help of the Holy Spirit, I picked up on so many things that I never saw before.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in His law he meditates day and night.

So often during my day my mind wanders to my worries, my fears, my guilt. Those are valuable moments that I could be spending meditating on the law of God! Instead, I give in to the sin of taking my focus off the One Who holds my future, calms my fears, has taken away my guilt. Another thing that stuck out to me about this godly man is that he delights in God's law! Delights in it! What do I truly delight in? I am very ashamed to say that I am not usually delighting in God's Word. Unlike myself, this man finds no weight in loving God's Words. What a challenge that is to me!

He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water.

He is unshakable. The LORD Almighty is His foundation. I cannot think of a more powerful person in the world than one whose rock is the God that holds the universe in His hands.

And in whatever he does, he prospers.

That is quite the statement. He prospers in whatever he does. I believe this is because if we are walking in the will of God, we will prosper. We will thrive. For in the center of God's perfect will, there is no better place to be.

For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

I love that phrase. The LORD knows the way of the righteous. My Bible says that it means that he is intimately acquainted with the righteous. Intimately Acquainted! What a powerful thought! The same God that formed the mountain and sea wants to be intimately acquainted with us!

My prayer is that I would passionately seek my Abba and that one day, with His help alone, I may become a blessed woman.

Have a most wonderful day worshipping the King of Kings!!

Blessings,
Miss Lissa

Welcome

Hello Everyone!

Thank you for reading my blog! (And while you are reading, I would love it if you could just take a second a post a comment so I know that you are reading.) That would be muchly appreciated!

I have been part of the blogging world for quite some time, but this blog has a different purpose. I am going to remain quite anonymous at this and instead of letting this be a blog for my friends to read, I want this to be a blog for the world to read. The internet can be a wonderful means of sharing the gospel, and that is my intention. Plus a few random Miss Lissa thoughts.

So, grab a cup of coffee or tea (my personal favorite) or cocoa and get comfy. I am very excited about sharing my world with you.

Blessings,

Miss Lissa
