The Little Red Barn

Hello! Sorry I haven't written in a while, and there is no excuse this time, none.

I wanted to write and say I have a new blog. It is with blogger and it's called

'The little red barn'

It's for selling my home made soap and my sister's home made jewelry. If you want to take a look at it, Great! but I don't know how to find it, so please don't ask ME for directions, I am always lost, but Christmas is the worst time for some odd reason. If you can't find the blog, you can ask questions about the products HERE! isn't that wonderful? Infact, you can just stay here from the beginning to save yourself the trouble of looking! Ha Ha!

In Christ,

           Julia

PS. I pray that God sends you a WONDERFUL Christmas and a Joyful new year which will be too old to call new around about 2:30 pm January first, But I hope you have a safe year filled with blessings.

               God bless!

                            Julia

                                       Julia

PS. I have glasses now, I love them, they are black with white flowers on them. we just finished dinner, it was sloppy joes made with deer meat, and as soon as we sat down, if he meant it this way or not, I don't know, my brother started singing Rudolph the red nosed reigndeer!!  I looked down at my plate and said; "mOm!"

                                 I'm done boring you now.

Going ons

Hey there!  I have been really busy latley, with school starting and all. Speach and Debate has started, it's a few classes of Speaking and Debates, Bible studys and gym and swim. I went swimming last week and now I have swimmer's ear- PAINFUL!!!! Tonight I have youth group, I really enjoy that.

My kitten is hunting now! She's been eating the ground hogs in our front yard. Our neighbors just got another horse. His name is Coco and he is soooo sweet! My dog, daisy has fleas and she has been scraching her back up against the sofa and now she has no fur! She looks pitiful.  Our goat is so picky! she only eats weeds and thorn bushes that are 'just so' and she doesn't eat the tall grass.

I have school to do, so I'd better finish up.

Friday-Saterday

Hey there! I'm going to tell you about Friday and Saterday; all the events.

First, we went to the Indi Zoo. We went first to the aquatic section. We saw the sealions from the outside of the tank. then we went inside and saw sting rays, jelly fish, eals and fish from the coral reef. When we went to the next room there was a huge pool that was about three feet deep in one area and five feet deep in the other. In the pool I was thrilled to see dog sharks- very friendly sharks witch are often found in petting zoos. We stayed there for a while, petting the sharks with two fingers on the side only. Next we saw sea creatures that look like plants, such as sea anenome. after that we saw sealions (underwater) and seals. Next we saw penguins and a polar bear. then we went to sea the dolphins. we went through a glass tunnel that went under the water in the dolphin's tank. It was truly amazing to see the dolphins swim so gracefully above and beside me. Humans could never swim like that by them selfs.

Next we watched the dolphin show, still pretty cool, but I favor the glass tunnel.

When we left that section we saw the forest; tigers, lions and bears; OH MY! we also saw peacocks and monkeys.

Next we went to the plains and saw Elephants, Giraffes, zebras, ostrich, and much more, not to mention a Komodo Dragon.

And so concludes our morning at the Zoo. Next we went to the Indi children's museam.

We grabbed lunch and went to the King Tut exibit witch included; statues from the tomb, treasure from the tomb and furniture from the tomb of King Tut. This was my big sister's Idea to go there, But it was still interesting. It's a little harder to illistrate because of the super hard names so i'll just move on to the wedding on Saterday.

The colors were purple black and white. the food was delicouse and My favorate part was when what was supposed to be a nice emblem of hope sort of got messed up. At the end of the cerimony the bride and groom opened a box full of butterflys. the butterflys were supposed to fly away but instead Brian (the groom) had to thump the box upside down and shake the box and finally they gave up after trying to flick the butterflys out. they set the box down and walked down the isle.

That's all for now.

In christ, Julia

Visit

Hay there! I just wanted to tell you that my great grandparents (Gramie & Papa) are visiting from California. Tomorrow they will take us to Indianapolis (the capitol of Indiana), first to the Children's museam and then to the Zoo. I am sooooo exited! I'll tell you about it tomorrow evening. on Saturday we're going to a wedding, I'll tell you about it after it happens. Saturday just happens to be my best friend's B-day aswell.

Busy weekend! Now, try to guess what happened last night. We went to Chuck E Cheese's and a huge storm came up. A tree got nocked over in the front of the resterant, leafs were every where and the sky was black. My Papa went into the bathroom just a few seconds before the maneger said: O.K, everyone needs to go into the back of the building, the tornado sierns are going off.

So every one was squashed into the kitchen next to a 300 'f stove. A few minutes later all the children were being stuffed into a closet that was really a freezer. My siblings and I managed to stay with my mom.

When the sierns stopped every one filled out and my Papa told us that as soon as he had come out of the stall in the bathroom a worker had said: Sir, you need to wash your hands and come with me". My Grammie said in a deep voice (pretending to be the worker) Sir, your under arrest in the name of the law.

LOL!

Well, that's about it for now.

busy, busy, dreadfuly busy, much much too busy for you.

Hi there, sorry about the blog being so long in updating. It's just that, well- one little word;

             SUMMER

I have already traveled up north to visit my grandparents, went with them to new york, went to a graduation party, visited with my second cousin, Rebccah (more like my whole family) & drove  down to Ohio to visit my aunt, uncle and two cousins, Mathew & Isaac. we went back to grandma and grandpa's, I got a fever and a sore throat; we went to a 4th of july parade and now I'm home. I made it back in time for Hannah's 14th birthday. I've been home for about two weeks, but animals don't take care of themselfs. One of our chickens got eaten by a ratcoon, I've made lots of new friends in the neighborhood, we just got a goat and 4-H is just crazy. oh, by the way, Hannah got champion on her Geneology project.

We have to milk Julliet, our goat, at 7:30 in the morning, 2:00 pm and at 7:30 pm .    & on top of that we own 4 acres or land and 2 of them must be mowed. Life is just crazy right now, but I continue to give it to Christ my Lord and savior.

Chickens

I forgot to mention, we have two chickens, we hope for ten more + a pig! We found out that we have grapes- Oh, and we are looking at getting two ducks to eat all the misquitoes for us (I did not mean eat the bugs instead of us eating them!)

Life around here

Hi there! I have some great news! I Finally got my kitten, and I named her LucyMay. She is creamy white with butter yellow spots. She has green-blue eyes and I have discovered that she is nocturnal.  (meening she climbs all over everything as soon as the light is out, and meows endlesly)

We lost power during a storm at six thirty, but thankfuly it turned back on at eight 'o' clock, but not until I said "the power probably won't come back on until morning" just then we heard a rattling noise and the lights turned on all at the same time, not to mention the stove, that had been turned on, ready to cook our dinner.

Our woods are flooded and misquitoes are eating my family alive!  Poison oak and Ivy is every where! Thank The Lord for our neighbor, Mr. Simpson. He lets us use alot of his tools, that includes his riding mower. (Try push mowing three acres of bumpy land in 87' degree weather).

I had better end this entry soon or every one will get bored and never come back.

                  Julia.

Life at home

Hi there! Sorry I havn't had time to write in a while, but we are still trying get settled. I'll just give you a quick review.

Joy's head is past my waist and she is always looking for ways to make trouble.

Gracie (MaryGrace) has a tooth comming in and she is eating baby food now.

Noah's fish almost died but just barley managed to survive (much to the dismay of Hannah)

Hannah's birds are as noisy as ever and have made our bedroom stink.

Daisy is freeking out ever since the move and is tired of Joy bothering her.

Noah just got a bow and some arrows and is always wanting to help in some way.

I am busy taking care of the puppy, the baby and the garden. I just put a home made swing up and am trying very hard to get to sleep at night, but that is hard because both my brother and my sister snore (not to mention the puppy) and the birds try to be extra loud at night.

Hannah spends most of her time in the woods getting bug bites. Her blog is "Miss Elizabeth 12"

Mom is busy in the garden most of the time and she has just become a birth assistant for Midwife Penny Lane, my mom's blog is "Somewhere"

My Dad is working very hard at work, but he always has time for every one but the birds and the fish (but I don't think that they matter very much in this case.)

Colfax is the town that we now live in. It is a small town, but it has a small grocery store, a library, a park, a hardware store and a few other buildings (that does not count houses)

I have to go now so,

In Christ , Julia.

News

Hi! I have some exciting news! My family and I are moving to a house about twenty minutes away from where we live. It is a small house; only two bedrooms, but it has four acres, a peach tree, a cherry tree, a few apple trees, and a barn! We are looking forward to having a big garden.

Now that we have the house we can keep Joy, our foster puppy. A few months after we move in I might get a kitten and I am soooo excited! Our dog, Daisy has a lot of thick, scraggly fur and she freaks out when we move furniture around, so the day we move we are goung to send her to the groomer's to have her matted fur chopped off, and she'll be out of the way!

We are having our pictures taken at a studio for the first time in three years today and my brother's eyes are realy light sensitive, wish us luck!

Poor me.

Hi there! My puppy has been going crazy today, so I'm a little "Where am I? Oh, look! Another dog! that makes two thousand six million somthin' dogs... oh, wait, maybe it's the other way around-  Where am I?" today, so forgive me if I repeat somthing or write something backwards.

My Dad took me to the library today so I have been reading out side in the lovely spring weather most of the day. I have a few bruises from when I did an experiment today, I tried to see if I could read while walking. I was fine for most of the time, watching out for objects in the corner of my eye and reading with the part of my eye that is not a corner. I was in the middle of an exiting part and began to put my full attention on the book when "KABAM!" I ran into the tree in our back yard after tripping over a thick branch on the ground. (Sigh) Poor, poor me, always getting squashed in some way. Well, the good part of my day was that I had lunch in a styrofoam bowl so I didn't have to do any dishes!

             In Christ,

                      Julia

Jessica

Hello again! I would just like to tell you a little bit about why the song Come to Jesus is so important to me.

My family and I had just moved to California and my big sister and I were going to V.B.S for the first time. My dad was going to be the principle of the private school we were going to and some of the kids in my class were going to the same V.B.S as me. My mom introduced me to a girl named Jessica, she had long blond hair and pretty green eyes. Jessica and I got along very well and when school started we were desk mates. It was the first actual school that I had gone to and I liked it a lot. because California has such nice weather all year round, I went over to Jessica's house after school about once a week and we would run through the sprinklers for an hour or two. Jessica and I were great friends, and even when school ended for the year Jessica and I still got together a lot. The summer was great and I was a little upset when I had to go back to school, but I wasn't upset for long, the school that I went to was a lot of fun. I had only just started to get used to school when Jessica was diagnosed with cancer. She went to Japan and had surgery, she came home a little while later and was recovering well. I was going to a different school and we lived an hour away, but we still managed to get together. We had thought that Jessica would be fine after the surgery but our hopes were dashed when we found out that Jessica had five tumors in her head and they suspected that there were some in her spine. Our hopes fell even more when we found out that there was nothing the docters could do for her. We went to visit her at her house for the last time, she went to be with her Savior a week later. The song Come to Jesus was sung at her funeral. I will always remember Jessica as some one who made a big impact on my life, she did many things that surprised me and I would like to tell you about some. Whenever I went grocery shoping with my mom I would say 'Hi' to every one that passed us in the store, but Jessica would stop every one that passed her and ask 'Do you love Jesus?' One time I asked her what her favorite color was and she said 'yellow, because yellow is the color of the sun and Jesus is the son of God.' She was only seven years old when she went to be with Jesus, but I think that she was ready.

Now that I have told you about why the song Come to Jesus is so important to me I hope you will look at it from a different view.

 In Christ,

               Julia

My Favorite Things

Hello again!

I would just like to tell you a bit more about myself.  I am in sixth grade and my favorite subjects are reading and creative writing. I have written one book and I am in the process of writing two more. Some of my favorite books are The Little House books by Laura Ingalls Wilder, The Sign of the Beaver by Elizabeth George Speare, Understood Betsy by Dorathy Canfield Fisher, The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S Lewis, The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien, The Courage of Sarah Noble by Alice Dalgliesh, By the Great Horn Spoon by Sid Fleischman, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgeson Burnet, The Sugar Creek Gang by Paul Hutchens, Mr.Popper's Penguins by Richard and Florence Atwater and any version of The Holy Bible. These are only a few of my favorite books. I am reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R Tolkien, at the moment and I think it is very interesting. Some people say it is a hard book to read and it is true that it is harder to read than The Hobbit, but I have read harder books before.

Some other things that I like to do in school are penmanship and Latin. I started learning Latin in Kindergarten and I learned how to write in cursive before I learned how to print. I do not have Latin lessons at the moment because my dad works all day and my mom is not as good with Latin as my dad is. I like Latin so much that in the first book I wrote, Latin is the second language. Some other things I like to do are cheerleading, soap making, painting and drawing, eating, taking care of pets, taking care of babies, having family devotions, sleeping, making new friends, working with my blog and playing out side.

This is my second season cheerleading and I am enjoying it. My best friend's mom is the coach of my squad and there are only 4 girls on the squad, so we know each other better than we would with a lot of girls and we can get together for practices more often - even with the cold weather.

I make soap as a hobby and sometimes I sell my soap at basketball games. Painting and drawing is another one of my hobbies and my grandmother really encourages it.

My other grandmother makes a jello salad that I adore. It has fruit and jello, so I guess it isn't really just a jello salad, but any way it is really good and I think it is probably my favorite food.

Every night I stay up with the puppy that we are fostering and make sure that she has every thing she needs, and I make sure she isn't tangled up in the leash.

My little sister is a darling and I enjoy giving her baths, changing her cloths and even changing her dirty diapers. She is three months old now and she is baby talking a lot.

When we have family devotions we pray and then we sing a psalm or a hymn, then we listen to a Bible story. After that we work on catechism and then my dad asks for prayer quests and he prays out loud for us.

When I was little I would make new friends in the grocery store, but then I would never see them again and I would cry. I don't make new friends in the grocery store any more but I still do like to make friends at home school groups, basketball games, playgrounds and Bible studies.

My blog is not really fancy but I still enjoy making it different and interesting. I would like to put some music on it soon and I want to put lots of pictures on it, too.

I like to play out side best in the Spring, we have two trees in our back yard, two stumps, two flower bushes that have flowers that we have never seen before an a Tiger Lily bush. In the spring and summer our back yard is very beautiful, most especially when the violets and clover begin to come up. I have a small strawberry patch that is still making progress, but it has won 3 blue ribbons in the county fair and I hope that it will get another one this year. In the fall our back yard looks magical with all of the lovely autumn colors and in the winter it is a winter wonder land of cold fun.

Now after all this I enjoy the five hours of sleep that I get every night, if I'm lucky I'll get six. I am very happy with the busy life that God has given me and every day I search for more ways to please Him. Every time I write a new entry I end with 'Good bye for now!' but I think I would rather end with:

              In Christ,

                           Julia

Joy

Hi there! Sorry I have not been writing for a while but I have been very busy with cheerleading, Mary Grace and the puppy that we are fostering.  The puppy that we are fostering is a yellow lab named Joy, she is 8 weeks old and it is very hard to keep up with her. She sleeps for about 5 hours in the night and she wakes up alot, whining for a drink of water or to go out side and go to the bathroom. She runs around so fast during the day that it seems like there are six different dogs in the house! We call Daisy 'old lady'  because she just sits on the couch all day with her nose in the air and she dosn't play and when Joy tries to play with her Daisy snaps at Joy. We have to cage Joy and she HATES to be locked up and she whines and howls and Daisy sits on the couch and lookes at Joy as if to say "How immature!" Joy is smaller than Daisy and Daisy can jump very high, Joy likes soft beds and company, so when Daisy is on my parent's bed Joy tries to jump up but is not tall eneugh to reach the top of the bed. Daisy sits and stairs and opens her mouth so that it looks like she's laughing at Joy. Daisy is a one man dog and she isn't very good with kids, so she took to my dad. Now, my dad just happens to love yellow labs and so he plays quite a bit with Joy, Daisy does not want to share my dad with any body and most deffinetly not a puppy, so when my dad tries to play with both of them at the same time Daisy just sticks her nose in the air and walks away. We have to feed Joy 3 times a day and when we feed her we feed Daisy, Daisy always expects some kind of treat in her bowl and when we put her bowl down she snifs it and when she dosn't find a treat she walks over to Joy's bowl, just to make sure she didn't get something better than her. Joy is a lot of hard work but she is worth it. That is all I have to say at the moment so, Good bye for now!
