You may enter my page, and hear the song by Flyleaf..I'm so sick... and be wondering, what kind of mom is she that listens to that kind of music... LOL! Well, for one thing, it's not the only thing I listen to, but this one song by FlyLeaf really speaks to me. Listen to the words, they really speak. If you can't understand all the words...look them up. God Bless! |

Well, another Monday has come and almost gone. My day started out pretty good. I try to lay in bed for a few minutes each day after I wake, to spend a few minutes in prayer, giving the Lord my day, bringing Him my requests. I think it is a very important first step for the day. Without Him, I will most definately make more mistakes in my day. Notice, I said MORE. I will most definately make SOME mistakes. I'm thankful for the Lord's help and wisdom. I have to ask Him for it though. I used to go about my day, trying to solve my problems on my own, or wondering why things aren't going the way I planned, and end up very frustrated at the end of the day. Admittedly, somedays that still happens. But, if I remember to call on Him in my time of need, I know He will help me. Even if it's just for a few minutes of peace, it is worth the time out to talk to Him. That's kind of funny isn't it? We are very good at handing out time-outs to our children, but sometimes, we need to demand a time-out for ourselves. Take a time-out and talk to the Lord about our day, our problems, and also don't forget to give Him praise. LOL! I remember thanking the Lord today for an electric heater in our bathroom! Without that electric heater, the bathroom floor is very cold, even with the heater on in the rest of house. That may seem funny to some, but I believe it's important to give thanks IN all things. If you feel like saying thanks for something, Do it! God will love you for it! Even if it's for something small. So, anyways, I didn't have a perfect day at all... More homeschooling frustrations. It doesn't happen too often, but when it does...Look out! It comes in like a storm! But, like I said earlier, during those times, is when I really need to rely on God. He is my Rock. I couldn't do it without Him. Okay, well, kids in the bath, ready to get out and go to bed...Goodnight everyone and God bless!

Today I slept in a bit. I wasn't feeling well last night. Something hit my stomach hard! My husband and I were in the middle of having our date night, when my stomach went crazy on me! We had to end our night short. :( We try to have date night once a week, but it doesn't always work out. We are so busy with a lot of other things in life, that we know we better make time for our marriage too. I believe whole-heartedly that dates should keep going even after you are married. They keep your marriage fresh, and it also gives you are your hubby time for yourselves. Anyways, it's Wednesday. Homeschooling is going okay today. I've read a lot of blogs of moms who sound so orgnaized and have everything together. I am not one of them moms, but I envy the moms who are. My husband and I have been homeschooling for nearly 2 1/2 years now. We pulled our kids out of school for several reasons. The main, because we feel like our children deserve better. The teachers were great, but we hardly got to see our kids. I don't understand making a child go to school for 8 hours and then giving them loads of homework that takes them a couple of hours to do. They eat and then go to bed. Anyways... lol, We are trying our best to homeschool our kids. We have 5 children, ages (almost) 13, 11, 7, 4, and 2 1/2. We had a girl, boy, girl, boy and lastly a girl. Homeschooling to me can be very stressful. I try not to let it be, but it just happens. I have honestly thought about putting them back in public school, out of frustration, but I know that would only hurt them worse. My mother in law would love it if I did! But that's another story. I have decided to persevere! My husband has his own construction company and stays very busy, Praise God! He use to be a full time police officer, but we quickly decided that he needed to be on his own time. We took a leap of faith, and started his own construction company. God has blessed us from the get-go! During the winter, he has had plenty of jobs to keep food on the table, and that is very rare, due to the cold. Our area has a few homeschoolers, but we are the only ones in our town. There use to be a co-op in a larger town not far from us, but I've heard they shut down, due to families moving away from the area. So, we are on our own. So, you see, I think I have a good reason to feel stressed out some times! I pray daily, and ask God to help me to RELAX! lol! I know that homeschooling comes in different styles, and I think ours is very ecclectic! We usually have Mondays off, to rest after our Sunday. Sunday is suppose to be a day of rest, but for us, it is a day of work. We are pastors at our small church, and do most of everything. I teach Sunday School and Children's Church on Sunday mornings. And I lead the church in one hymn. My husband goes through the morning exercises, and also plays piano and leads worship! My oldest son, plays the drums, very well, and I play the guitar. And now we have our oldest, playing the keyboard too! I am so excited at how our worship services have progressed! So, that leaves the preaching last, and of course my husband does that as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining... I love being able to minister. But it is work! That's why on Mondays, we rest. There's no schoolwork, unless you want to count the chores of everyday life, as that. But no bookwork. I really am glad I made the decision to have Mondays off. So, that's just the beginning ramblings of our lives.... And there is so much more to add, but I better go get some things done around the house! God bless all the Homeschooling Moms out there! May God give you peace, rest, and patience to keep doing the will of God! I know that it is His will! Please leave me a comment! I really would love to get to know some of you ladies on here! I need friends! :) |

Hey all! I just got my account set up, now I'm trying to make things look pretty. I could use some help if anyone wants to jump in and has patience! I am a homeschoolin' mom of 5 kids. We pulled our 3 oldest out of the public school system about 2 years ago, and we are still trying to make things work for us! I'm looking forward to meeting new people on here, and hope that everyone will feel free to email me or leave comments. We are a christian family that loves the Lord with all of our hearts! God Bless Everyone!
