My Place on the Web

Sep. 29, 2006 - update and prayer request

Hello!  I'm sorry it seems as I've dropped off the face of the earth.    My mother-in-law found out that her cancer had returned on June 21st and was given 6 mos. to live.  She made it around 9 weeks and we buried her on the 5th of September.  Meanwhile, my father was having tests run and found out 2 days after we buried my mother-in-law that his cancer was back.  We've spent the month of September taking several tests, and he was operated on last Thursday.  He is stage 4 now, and the surgeon said they just couldn't get it all.  I suppose we will know more as soon as we can get him out of the hospital and in to the oncologist.  Colon cancer is a wicked cancer and I have somewhat become a pest about people getting their colonoscopies.  (If you haven't had one...it's NOT that bad...PLEASE GO!!!)  Anyways, this month has been a blur of running home to the farm to keep everything up, staying with dad in the city hospital, and spending nights in other beds.  School has become a hit-or-miss right now.  Please pray for the family, and especially my father and his wife.  We have much to deal with.  I know, for I had just finished walking this road with my mother-in-law.  I don't feel as though I've even gotten to grieve for her yet, as this has cropped up.  Crisis to crisis, so to speak.  I will soon be back with website suggestions...but first I must finish my walk down this road with my father.  As it says in Psalm 34:22..."The Lord redeemth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate."  And the first words out of my dad's mouth coming out of anesthesia after the surgery,  "God is STILL on the throne!"  AMEN!

Love,

Mistymoo

P.S.  My son just came in and said one of the cows has calved...Life DOES go on.  Praise be to God from whom ALL blessings flow!
