Hoosier Mama's Parade of Adventures

Jul. 10, 2007 - 7-7-07

Did y'all hear about this 7-7-07 thing?  Apparently, a lot of couples thought it would be a great idea to get married on that date because it's *lucky*.  Makes you wish you'd have run out and snatched up the first bubba you saw just so you could get hitched on that date, doesn't it?  "Forget love, commitment, and mutual respect, Gertrude...what we needs is a lucky date for our wedding.  One with lot's of 7's in it, just like hitting the jackpot on the slots at the casino boat!  We'll hit our own little jackpot of love."

One local bride was quoted in the newspaper as saying, "We picked it because it is such a unique date.”

Because, gee, all the other dates in history are exactly the same?  Sheesh.  Most people recognize that having different numbers for each month, day and year guarantee that each individual date is unique.  That's how we differentiate between something that happened TODAY and something that happened on another day in history.

Unique or not, I bet 6-6-06 wasn't nearly as popular.

Well (embarrassed grin)...my last baby had to be induced. My ob told me to come to the hospital on May 4th and I asked if we could wait one more day so her birthday could be 5-5-05. But in my defense, we have a lot of kids and I figured the grandparents would appreciate a birthday that was easy to remember -lol!

Nice to meet you! I found your blog from TC and you both make me laugh!
I really wanted to tell you about this (even if you don't like to talk about cancer) but both my grandpa's have it and I've learned a lot about it in the last year.(Though neither of them has breast cancer -thank goodness! That would be odd!) Did you know that cancer feeds on sugar? No more sugar for my grandpas! And there is this juice out there in the health nut world that has made a small transition to the "real" world. You would need a juicer to make it at home. It has carrots, parsley and I think something else, all juiced together. Sounds nasty, I know! But a friend of mine rents out a house to a family who's mother got cancer and the doctors told her she did not have long to live (she didn't have breast cancer) so my friend says "no, there's a drink I've heard can help cancer. You have to drink it about three times a day but it helps." So the tenant did that and went back to the doc 2 weeks later and they told her she was fine- there was nothing wrong with her. Wow! God is amazing, the way he created food to heal us. If you woudl like the recipe I can get it for you, just leave me a note on your blog since I don't have time for my own. God bless!
I hope God blesses you in more ways than one through this experience.
