David (7) spent the WHOLE day Saturday scooping out the chicken house WITHOUT COMPLAINT. It was truly unprecedented and amazing...he just went to work when Daddy gave him the chore and worked hard all day (Daddy built a BIG chicken house so it was not a small job). At the end of the day we decided to have a big bonfire of the wood shavings and chicken poop (what else do you do with it????). For those that are freaking out right now, rest assured, we did not cook hot dogs or marshmallows on this particular fire .
While we were all standing by the bonfire which, incidentally, was amazingly difficult to get going, but once going it burned/smoldered for 2 days (even through a thunderstorm), Sammy (21 mo) meandered over to the electric fence to get a closer look at Clarabelle who in turn came to her side of the fence to get a closer look at Sammy. When I noticed what they were doing, I also saw that Sammy was HOLDING the electric fence...with a smile! I thought it must be turned off when the next thing I saw was him resting his head on the wire...SURELY there is no charge!! Joshua (5), always up for a challenge, decided to go touch the fence and verify that it indeed was NOT on...
...poor Joshy came back screaming...it was on...Is Sammy made of Rubber???
