Susanna, who will be 3 in 2 weeks, does not seem to need the quantity of sleep that all other normal Bainbridge children need. I think I've mentioned before her propensity for getting up at odd hours of the night to read books to her groggy baby brother who eventually starts yelling "Bop, Bop" (i.e. "STOP"). During naptime, I often find her asleep in the hallway upstairs or on the stairs after she tires of her escapade and crashes where 'ere she finds herself. One thing she rarely does is to come downstairs during naptime or nighttime because she's not as innocent as she looks...she KNOWS she's supposed to be in bed and she KNOWS if she gets caught, she'll receive her just reward and be put back in bed.
...but today, she thought she had a fool proof plan for avoiding nap time. About 25 minutes after I had put her to bed, I was talking to David on the phone for a minute in the family room. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her peer around the corner of the staircase covered in a mesh-type laundry basket. She stealthily walked right into the family room and over to some books and began reading...ever so quietly and avoiding eye contact the whole time. It's as if she really thought I wouldn't see her covered in her camoflauge.
