At this time last year I was way overdue with Becca and mighty uncomfortable, wondering if she'd ever decide to be born!  She was finally born at 11 days overdue.  We are celebrating Becca's first birthday tomorrow and I am always amazed at just how fast a baby's first year goes...it seems like just last month I was cradling a newborn...but my newborn disappeared overnight and now I'm busy chasing a very stealthy, destructive force of a toddler around the house. 

She brings us so much joy, though!  Just tonight a cat got in...a fairly common occurrence...and as soon as she saw it she started to chase it into the other room...the cat, not wanting to get caught by anyone and put back outside, moved a bit faster than Becca could, but Becca had heard us call cat's names plenty of times before...you know, the sing-song voice you use when you're calling someone out of hiding..."Smo-key"...or "Kit-ty"...well, of course, Becca can't say those words, but she got the sing-song part down perfect.  Long after we had caught the offending feline and tossed him out the door, Becca wandered the house, peaking under the couch, pearing around corners "calling" the cat.  It was so precious!

Becca is at the stage now that there are only 2 viable options for holding her...me and Julia...all others are closely screened and then summarily rejected...unless options 1 and 2 are not within sight, smell, or sound, then she's been known to make substitutions. 

Look at her just stand there like I wanted her to...such a good girl...and she's smiling, too!!!
