Mar. 16, 2008 - A busy Sunday

Today was wonderful and exhausting! First we made it to Sunday school for the first time in a month. We were out of town, it was cancelled for a large community service, then we were sick. I love my sunday school class. Such an intimate atmosphere for sharing and praying. You know how you always hear "God never wastes a hurt." Well, today God gave me the opportunity to share what I learned through a recent trial with a sister in Christ. What a good feeling. When she was sharing her struggles, I could relate to those raw emotions. Thank you God for giving me the ability to relate and to encourage.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.  2 Corinth 1:3-4

Then Jake was dedicated during the church service. He was a riot. He is usually very mellow but he wouldn't stop grabbing at Pastors face. First he grabbed off his glasses, I held them for him. Then while we were praying, there was alot of mic interference. I opened my eyes to see Jake with the pastors mic completely pulled out. It was funny. We got lots of comments about that. My pastor talked about Deuteronomy 6 and how we are doing that through homeschooling. It was pretty cool to have that "endorsement" in front of our church family. Then he commented on  "be fruitful and multiply'", we all got a chuckle when he called us "biblical" people.

So after church we had a small dedication/1st birthday party. Jake devoured his chocolate cake. I love that. He was so excited at first and then got sick of it and started spitting it out and trying to get out of his high chair. I've never had a baby do that before. Eating the 1st birthday cake makes the cutest pictures.

He wasn't  into opening presents but my sister gave him the cutest shirt that says I want to rock....actually he just wanted to go to bed.

We then had to get to church for the  Easter Cantata. I always enjoy participating but it makes for a long week.

Needless to say everyone is being lazy tonight. I could easily go to bed now...It's only 7.

It was a day to be thankful for!
