Who knows what's going on around here?

I hardly know what is going on around here.
We had company for a lot of the summer and that kept us pretty busy.  Then, during the last week of visitors, my husband lost his job.  That really changes things around here.  We didn't get right back to school as planned.  It is hard to do our usual routine with dad around.  I hate to say that but it is true.  It isn't that we don't want him here.  In fact, we are enjoying him being around but it does distract and side-track.  And then there is the fact that, because he is out of work, we need to be more careful with money.  So, I am not refusing the produce offered to me.  I am taking time I was planning on doing school and picking fruit and canning it.
All of this is to say.  I could use some prayer.  While prayer for a job for hubby would be nice, what I really need is prayer for me to use my time effectively and to use my resources wizely.
We should be starting school again on Monday and I am looking forward to the structure and just the fun of all the stuff we are learning.  We are also planning on doing Latin this year with a new homeschool aquaintance.  That should be real neat!
Okey-dokey... it's late and I am rambling.  Time to go to bed.

Blessings to all and to all a good school year!!

Somehow I missed that you had a blog! I just saw mama24boys on one of my comments and realized it was you!
I so understand how it is with the husband being home. I have had several seasons where that was my story... you do hate to say it, but it throws everything off. I will be praying for you!

Hi there Amy. Yes, it's me. I don't tell too many people I have a blog (like, I haven't ever put it in my signature yet). Because I am so sporatic with my posting, I'm kinda waiting until I hit my stride, if you know what I mean, before I "broadcast" to the world.
I have enjoyed the occasional drop-in and it has encouraged me to post more often.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Jeanette, I am in Eugene. Nice to meet you. I think there is going to be a picnic for Northwest HSBers. Check my blog periodically for details. I think it may be the 23rd of Sept. We will likely meet further north ans possibly as far as Portland . Hope to meet you IRL.
Susan

PS- I just met Amy last week. Small world.

I'm in Cottage Grove, Oregon and new to the area. I thought this might be an opportunity to get to know others in the area. In addition, I just wanted a space to "think" about my current homeschool adventure. I have been homeschooling for 17 years and the last 3 have been better than I ever could have imagined!!!
