Jan. 17, 2008 - My crisis
Tuesday was not a good day. It started first thing that morning when I was giving the twins their medication and vitamins. I knew something was wrong the moment I picked up the Flintstone vitamin bottle. it was nearly empty, and I had just bought it about 3 days prior. They had eaten them all! All but eight of them anyway. So, I spent the morning on the phone with the doctor and poison control. Anyway, they are going to be fine. They would have had to eat 177 of them before it would be a concern and there wasn't that much in the bottle. Thank God. But, now they have to drink lots of water, nothing with calcium in it, and eat lots of fiber rich foods because they are going to be constipated too as a result of this. But, other than that they will be fine. Just thought I would share.

Oi!
Reminds me of when my brother ate a whole entire bottle of Pac-man vitamins when we were little. All by himself! He is a spaz and a dork, but other than that he seems to have suffered no ill effects. ;-)
I hope your kidlets have learned their lesson! I sometimes wonder if the kids really believe that they'll get sick if they eat too many gummy bear vitamins. I better put them up extra high just in case... |

I have had that happen before too! We buy our kids gummy bear vitamins. We had half of a bottle left sitting on our countertop, and my daughter (3 at the time) snuck in and ate the rest of them. It freaked me out and I had to call poison control too. Luckily it was vitamins, and not a medication of some sort. It is scary though when you have to call poison control.
Hope everything is going well! Your template looks great!

Had my oldest daughter get into something years ago. A neighbor came over to help me as I was on the phone with poison control and trying to make her throw up (I think she was 3 or 4 at the time). My dear hubby walks in on this scene and gave me a hard time about not keeping a close enough watch on them......
2 days later, I come home from shopping for groceries to find my dear, darling husband in the same bathroom with a different child (2 year old who is really good at getting into places he should not be) on the phone with same poison control.......
Needless to say, he apologized profusely...."hon, I only turned my back for a minute and I have no clue how he got into that stuff....."
We all survived the experience, Poison Control had a good laugh (same dispatcher both times) and now our kids are pretty healthy!
Kids can be SUCH fun and ALWAYS and adventure!!! |
