Trusting in Him

Where did my patience go?

For some reason I have misplaced my patience.  I can't seem to find it anywhere.  I looked under the mounting pile of laundry, ransacked thru all the toys, checked the trash just in case one of my children put it in there, but still no luck.  So I just had to ask God for some more.  I ask Him every morning before I get out of bed to please give me patience throughout the day.  Today started like any other day.  Spend some time with God, read a little from my devotionals and head out of my room to train up my children in the way they should go, be a keeper of the home, and instill a little education into my little ones.

It does not take long until someone is complaining about chores, another whining that "she took my toy", and the other singing in her loudest voice "daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy, daddy...."  I love my quiet mornings and wish they lasted a bit longer.  I wish my house was more organized and clean.....maybe I need a chore chart?  I also do not want to hear the dreaded question of the day....."What is for dinner?"  OK, OK, I can do this!  Get a better grip on our life, our home and our vision for our family.  Oh, help me Lord.

Just slowly coming along

It has been a lonnnggg weekend!  And it's not over.  My hubby has Sun./Mon.'s off from work so Mondays feel like Sundays around our house.  We plan on taking the kids to San Francisco tomorrow for the day.  We thought a fun day trip would be exciting and refreshing.

I need to get Joshua's 3rd grade lesson plans prepared.  I am waiting to go to the Homeschool Curriculum Fair at the end of July so I can buy some Bible Curriculum.  I am so lost as to what would be a good start.  Maybe at the fair I will get to see the books and judge what would be good for him.  I am excited about this upcoming year.  We seem to be getting into the swing of things and Joshua's attitude is taming down.  Thank you, Lord for hearing my cry and loving my child more than me.  I just love your faithfulness.

Getting ready....to take off

The boys are enjoying the summer with VBS, Summer Reading Program, vacations and Local Sports.  Next week I will have to burst their bubble, though.  Joshua needs to work on his Barton reading and Cheyenne will use his electronic device to prep him for 6th grade.  Aidan is starting to speak more.  I sit with him every chance I can to look at books and to encourage him to use his words.  It is so exciting to hear new words from his little mouth.  Kelsey is getting around more.  She is slowly crawling around and learning to sit up from a laying position.  She recognized Daddy's voice on the phone and tried to give him kisses by slobbering on the phone.

I listened to a conference online today about Family Journaling.  Amazing insight on how to get our children and us to record our lives and our children's stories from their perspective by journaling.  So, I decided to start a blog here, because I never heard of homeschoolblogger before.  I am hoping this will inspire Joshua to want to write and share his life story as he grows.
