Dwell in Possibilities

My very busy, but good week

I have has such a busy week.  Starting with the day before Valentines Day.  My dh and I went out to eat at a very romantic resturant.  It was so nice to just  have a moment to think, and talk, and eat without having a million things needing to get done.  After that was my dd birthday on V-day.  She is such a special joy.  I was blessed to have her.  She is such a big helper at home.  She will make a wonderful mom and wife someday.  Her actual b-day we celebrated on Thurs. with all of our family.  Busy busy day baking and cooking for everyone.  Then last Saturday we had a V-day/b/day tea party.  It was so much fun. Several little girls came with their moms.  They were adorable.  We had sevral feathery boas.  As soon as I can figure out how to post the pictures again, I will show off how cute everyone was.  I had a very patient friend teach me how  to do it,  thanks Maria, but I obviously didn't get it.  I do that quite often.  I also had a very sweet and talented friend come and paint my hallway floor.  It is absolutely georeous.  I was at her house for dinner, and she had painted the top of her new table.  I couldn't believe she did it.  It was stunning really.  After seening how incredible her table looked, I started visualizing the design on my wood floor.  She came and spent many hours over 2 days working very hard on my home.  We still have a little left to do, but I am so pleased with how quirky it looks.  We had alot of fun while she and her 4 children were here.  I feel very blessed at the thought of having such a dear friend.  I will once again have to post a picture of this when I figure it out.  Thanks so much Amy.  I love it!  Check out her blog poshred1.

Anyway, that is a very small bit of what has been going on lately at my house.  I also have some serious thoughts of food,  I am astounished at the amount of food poisoning going around.  It makes me never want to eat out again.  I am a big supporter of organics and making things from scratch at home, but this really motovates me.  I am so happy making things that are good for my family.  I made homemade tortillas today.  They were so yummy.  I had tried the bread beckers recipe, but mine turned out way to dry, so I added extra liquid lechithin, and less ww flour.  They were the best I've made yet.  Very soft and pliable.  I like the ones that don't crack and break.   I also tried the recipe that Poshred has on her blog, the Best cream cheese on....  Wowsers it is so yummy.  Who would ever think that soaked sunflower seeds could be so good.  Check it out, tasty, healthy, and frugal.  It doesn't get much better than that.

I hope everyone is finding joy in the Lord today.  He is so good.

In Christ,

Geanine

I called about the puppies -- she sent them all to the pound. We were late in saving them. she mentioned they were a mixed lab and Pyr so they may not have worked as guard dogs anyway since labs like to hunt for birds. Not a good mix.
I was so pleased to see that you posted againg.
YOU GO GIRL!

I had a lot of fun doing that floor! We always enjoy hanging out at your house. Especially when you make us fried chicken and chicken gravy and biscuits! Yummmy!

If you are reading this and thinking "wasn't she just talking about healthy food?" Yes, she was, but was so horrified that I had never had fried chicken gravy (obviously I ain't from around here) that she had to treat me to that experience. Aren't you jealous??

Thanks Geanine!

Amy

Thanks for dropping in on my blog, of course I'm always after American friends since I'm not that flash at getting Australian friends, lol, maybe I need to leave the house more. I'm glad you enjoy my blog, I think I've found my calling in life, to blog my days away :)

Welcome to HSB! I like what you have to say. I enjoy making everything from scratch as well. Have you heard of the book "Nourishing Traditions"? I love it. I don't necessarily agree with everything....but she makes some good points and has some good insights. Plus it is a cookbook that doesn't have a bunch of canned this and boxed that recipes...You've gotta love that!

Anyway, I look forward to reading more from you. Feel free to drop by.

I like to make CORN tortillas from scratch. I've not done it in years, though. Huge process. You have to make hominy first, so it becomes a two to three day event. Still...there is nothing like fresh corn tortillas, nice and hot. YUM. So you had your floor painted?! I have never heard of such a thing. Won't it get scuffed up with people walking on it? Sounds really beautiful though. Well, I hope to see you soon. When are we doing another Olive Garden night?!!!

Love,
-gena
