I love learning, don't you? I love having truth, and not being decieved. I find the more I ask for God's truth, and for His will to be worked out in my life, the more content I am at letting Him take the lead. One of the paths He has let me travel has been on health and nutrition. This has been a path I have been on for 13 years, and I still have barely skimmed the surface. I don't want to do things the worlds way. I want to be different. (Not weird huh Amy. Pat would be so proud) One of the things I have been researching this week is fluoride. I've known for a long time that fluoride is toxic, so when my children go to the dentist, we skip the fluoride treatment. (Against the dr.s wishes of coarse), but there is a reason why, not rebellion. Did you know that toothpaste can. have amonia, artificial colors or flavors, ethanol, formaldehyde, mineral oil, and polyvinylpyrrolidone plastic (PVP), that is the same plastic resin in hairspray, an by the way is carcinogenic. Well wishers give fluoride to children as a precautionary protection against tooth decay. This may help harden their teeth, but what else will itdo? On April 1997, the FDA require a warning label to be listend on all toothpaste or dental care containing fluoride. It reads ughum.. clearing my throat, WARNING: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. If you accidentally swallow more toothpaste than used for brushing, seek professional help, or contact a poison control center immediately. Did you guys hear this? Immediately. This isn't saying if your child eats a whole tube, or ingests this stuff over a period of time, it is a one time thing. I read that even 1 Tablespoon in a small child could cause death. Did you know the second most common water pollutant is fluoride? Most fluoride used today to fluorodate water (on purpose mind you), is the hazardous waste material fluorosilicic acid. This acid is a by-product of metal industries and phosphate fertilizer manufacturers. Toothpastes also contain saccharin, which is know to cause cancer in labratory animals. Chewing gum and food products containing saccharin require a warning label stating it's connection to cancer in animals, but toothpaste doesn't, go figure. Anyway, I thought I would give you some natural solutions. Nowadays you can find nonfluoridated toothpaste at health food stores. I found a Toms of Maine at our local Wal-Mart. You can also try baking soda with a few drops of an essential oil or flavored extract.I read in a great book that you can mash strawberries. They supposedly foam like toothpaste and contain an ingredient that helps people with gum disease. You can also mix baking soda, glycerin, and cinnmon powder to get the job done. I hope this wasn't to borning. We'll see if this gets any response. If it does I'll share some more info. In Christ Jesus, Geanine |
