Well I finally planted peas today. We were a little bit late, but better late than never. We are doing mainly the Lasagna Gardening, but for the peas and corn we are doing traditional.
How exciting. Yeah! I can taste the succulant little guys already. We are finally getting a badly needed rain. Everything was so dry, and our area has battled several wildfires within the last month. One was on one of my husbands job sites. It was frightning. He was fighting fires until late in the night. The Lord protected him, and I am so thankful for that. He really wouldn't mind being a firefighter, but he needs more training! He is the sweetest thing, I just love him so much. I'm gushing I know, I just can't help it. I'm really not as bad on my blogs, but I do stroke his ego quite a bit. On another note, my ds who is 5 stepped on a rusty nail last week. It went through his shoe and punctured deep. No fun! That same day my ds age 11, flipped a go cart on it's side. I knew it wasn't a good idea to let him drive it, but I caved under the pressure. He was o.k., but that was the end of riding anything with a motor at someone elses house. My dear friend we were visiting, and her children were mortified. The told her that they were afraid we would never come back after our day there. Oh the nail through the shoe happened at her house too. It's o.k Shawnee, we will return with thicker soled shoes, and maybe the children could play a board game. Yikes what a day.
My friend Amy and I went and got manure from my uncles horse farm. It was great while the Bob Cat was loading it into the truck bed, but shoveling that stuff out was hard. Let me say it again, it was hard. We did 2 truck loads this way. I just knew I was going to be sore, but amaingly I wasn't. You can see pictures on her blog, poshred1. My dh said it was because I have been lifting weights. Isn't he cute. Hope everyone is doing well. I've been researching some more useful info. I will put it on my next blog.
In Christ Jesus,
Geanine.
