Happy Birthday to you Amy

Today is my friend Amy's birthday.  (Poshred1)  She and another friend, Jennifer, came over today and we did bulk cooking.  We made lots of seasoned ground turkey, turkey meatballs, and bierox, which is dough stuffed with seasoned ground turkey.  It was alot of fun, and we have quite a bit for our freezers.  I kinda think miss Amy gets the turkey award though.  She was keeping her birthday a secret.  We fixed that though.  We made her a cake, and took pictures, and sang to her.  When you put our two families together, you end up with alot of people.  It was fun.  What is even funnier is that I was making a chocolate cake and accidently added 3/4c. of cinnamon instead of cocoa.  Wow,  You see I store all of my spices and such in big glass gallon jars, and cocoa and cinnamon are similar in color.  Especially when you have cooked like 15# of Turkey...  It was actually not as bad as I was expecting ot to be.  Everyone was gracious and ate it, except my dh, who had his heart set on chocolate.  Anyway,  Happy Birthday Amy.  Hope you had a blessed day.

In Christ Jesus,

Geanine

I think it is wonderful that you all get together and cook. I have a friend coming over later today and we are having our girls cook for us.
What a sweet friend you are to remember Amy's birthday. I will have to go "visit" her and wish her a belated one.

Have a great day!
Maria

Your mistake was really good! We finished it up today, and Aria was begging me to make more! Steve loved it too. Thank you for being such a good friend :)).

You'll never guess what I did after I picked up my produce order. I stopped by Kroger to get some cantaloupe, and checked in the meat dept. The turkey was still on sale, so I bought all they had, 14 more pounds! I browned 6# of it with onions and the rest of that cabbage, and the rest I made more meatballs out of. I don't know what got into me lol.

In Christ,

Amy

Sounds like you and your friends had a ball doing the bulk cooking together. I have often wanted to try doing the "once-a-month" cooking thing, but it seems so overwhelming to me. But I guess as the Bible tells us, "many hands make light the work." Perhaps I'll have to round up a few girl friends and give it a try.

I ADORE cinnamon, so if you have any of that lucious cake left over that you don't know what to do with, send it my way. Just kidding! Glad to hear that your friends and family were gracious and ate the "almost" chocolate cake!

By the way - you've just been tagged. Come by my blog and see why!

Have a great Friday.
Blessings~
Pam

Sounds awesome to have friends who would enjoy bulk cooking together. Did you use "Once a Month Cooking?"
