If I knew how to embed that song into my post, I would. Yesterday was #2's birthday. I plan on posting about that later. I also need to post about Easter at some point too!
Yesterday had rough start. Mom overslept which made the morning chaotic. The speech therapist comes on Tuesday and the house wasn't anywhere close to ready for visitors. In the midst of the chaos we finally opened the bird whistles Grandma Far Far Away sent for Easter. #2 decided to run in to tweet for our real birdie named Eric. Eric was dead.
You can only imagine how the rest of the morning went. I knew that I wanted to do special things yesterday so we decided we would start by going to see Horton Hears a Who. We don't like going to the regular movie because of the cost, but it was a birthday you know! #4 was awful at the movies, and I spent much of the time wondering what in the world I was thinking. The kids still enjoyed the treat, so it was worth it despite the frustration.

When we came home #4 was asleep, so we all went outside to play! (he came out later) The kids had all gotten kites in their Easter Baskets. I will admit that while considering the fact that they each cost $1, I was worried that they wouldn't fly, but I was I wrong. Before I got outside #3 had hers in the air!

It was a truly blustery day, and so the kites were quite unpredictable. We did lose one kite permanently in our large tree out back. I hope the birds and squirrels like Batman. My Little Pony met its tragic death when a large gaping hole appeared right though Taffy. Dora was the the only survivor.

I had forgotten how much fun you can have flying a kite! I loved every ooh and aah from my children's mouths. I loved the fact that the six of us were all running around our back yards giggling like children. I know I don't giggle with my children enough. I know that I don't see the world through their eyes often enough either.

So much of the time, I am so wrapped up in doing my job as a mom, I forget to be a mom. Sure my house is more of a distaster today than it was yesterday and my to do list is longer. We didn't get any school work done, and we are another day behind. In so many ways we have so much more to do today, but I had more fun with my kids instead. It was all worth it.
