Completed projects

Posted in Daily life

There is great satisfaction in actually completing projects as a homeschooling mom. So much of the things we do get undone so quickly. The dishes always need to be done, laundry always needs to be done, toliets need to be scrubbed, carpets need to be vacuumed, etc.

I like to do many different types of crafts. Here is a sampling of what has been completed recently:

Photobucket

A pillowcase bag - you can find the directions at Martha Stewart

Photobucket

May Day Flowers - we secretly hung these on our neighbor's doors! :o)

Photobucket

Two new skirts for me - the pattern is found here.

There are always uncompleted projects around this house! Here are a couple currently in progress:

This quilt is for Matthew for the Civil War Re-enactments. I figured since he will be sleeping in the dog tents, he might like something to keep him nice and warm! :o) I still need to finish quilting it. I will be hand tying the quilt. I am hoping to take a quilting class this summer, if it fits into the schedule! :o)

We have another project we have been working on since 1999!! We started collecting the state quarters back then and have every quarter except for five. We are missing one from last year and the four more due to come out this year. If anyone comes across the Wyoming quarter, we would love to get one from you!! :o)

I did actually finish my 1997 album tonight. I am so glad that it is finally finished!! I will try to post some of my favorite page layouts soon.

Nice projects!
The Civil war reenactment must be fun for your son to do.

Hi friend,
I'm always amazed to see all the projects some of you ladies accomplish. I *can* sew, but I'm really not good at it and it's not my forte. But, oh how I LOVE the results - especially quilts! Your May Day baskets were so cute, too. I have a close friend who does the same thing every years. You two would be kindred spirits.

We're up having a regular Saturday morning and HOME! - Phillip and I keep thinking like..."Is this real?" Last night he said, "I keep thinking it's too good to be true and we'll have to go back out on the road." - I loved the traveling more than he did. He just wanted God's will for our lives whatever it was.

Happy Saturday!
Love, Angela

What great projects! I have 1,001 thing in progress right now and just feel like I can't complete on of them. Little toddler man is my main snag! :)

Thanks for your wise words of encouragement about me having to give up co-op. It's been a very hard decision that I haven't really shared much at all on my blog. In fact, I'm not so sure most other people even picked up on my sadness about it. Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment. It helped a bunch!

Fabulous projects!!! I have seen the Martha Stewart show where she made that pillow case bag --- we should try it. I recently found that she has a 30 min craft show every morning, so the kids and I try and remember to turn the tv on at that time to watch. Such wonderful ideas.
Very sweet to hang those May Day flowers on your neighbors' door. What a blessing!! And the skits, those are terrific, what talent!!

We've been outdoors more and havent really had much to blog about, but I am starting a weather study, hopefully today -- so we'll share what we do and learn. I think I'll look for a new craft as well -- you've inspired me!!

Blessings!

Thanks for dinner last night. And nice job on the photo album. I don't think I'll ever have the patience to be so creative with photos. I too like to finish projects, so that is why I stay away from that sort of thing...

Jessica

P.S. I am still laughing at the "Too Hot to Handle" pictures!
