New Civil War year, new Civil War sewing projects

We have our first Civil War reenactment coming up next weekend, so I have been working on some new sewing projects to add to our collection of period clothing. Since the mornings can be a little on the chilly side, I am currently working on making red flannel drawers for me and Kelsey. These will keep our legs warm under those petticoats. I have also just completed capes for both of us. Here is Kelsey wearing her new cape: and here is my new cape: Today, I realized, these will be so nice to wear to the ball in November! I had some extra trim, so I made some adjustments to the first dress I made last year. The skirt was a little long, so I added a tuck to it. Then I added the trim around the skirt. I will be sure to post photos after next weekend with the new changes.
