Yesterday was the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi-the patron of pets/animals. Right after we got up Cameron wanted to "bless" the pets. I pulled out my trusty RED book and Cameron grabbed his bottle of holy water. Then we spent untold minutes chasing a dog through the house. Even Isaac had to help us! Finally we got the dog situated and I read through the scripture verse and the blessing. Cameron then had fun sprinkling Leo with the water. Leo, being a husky, just shook it right off. Then Cameron headed outdoor to "bless" the cats. He said they took it all in stride-they've been "blessed" before. Then for some reason we had all the neighborhood cats hanging out in our yard all day! What's up with that?
Later in the morning, Leo tried snatching a toy away from Cameron. Cameron then declared that the blessing didn't "take" and that Leo needed more holy water to chase away the bad dog demons. I was thinking we needed an exorcist.....
For the schoolwork, we dug in and finished all our schoolwork for the week (YEA!) since with Mass this morning and company coming and a football game tonight, I knew there would be no schoolwork done today at all! I got several loads of laundry done. I'm getting a little better about the laundry monster.
We had a lovely pork loin roast and stuffing for dinner while we watched "Rock A Doodle". Then I tossed the baby in the bathtub....well, not tossed.....he jumped really. He's so funny. He apparently taught himself to sing the ABC song, since I can't remember doing it. He loves learning!
I got up this morning thinking I could have a nice cup of tea, read my email, do a puzzle, say a prayer or two, but NO, Cameron-the kid with NO schoolwork is up too!!! Then Leo the dog wakes up the baby. This is going to be a LONG day. I can feel it in my bones!
Well now, I've been informed that the baby has laid a bomb somewhere in the recesses of his diaper so I guess I'll go get the bomb squad moving in that direction.....
