We participated in Life Chain 2007 this past Sunday. We stood with almost 400 people along Hwy 90 in Rosenberg, silently praying for LIFE and specifically for unborn babies. That's all. We stood and prayed in the sun and the rain for one hour. What a wonderful experience. It is hard to find the words to describe what I saw and felt during that one hour. To see my 15 yr old ds (energizer bunny 1) standing quietly still, head bowed in silent prayer for one hour brought tears to my eyes. This is the boy who HAS to have some kind of physical contact or movement every single minute-he loves to move! To see him praying to God for those tiny precious babies was awesome!
Then I looked to my left where my wonderful 8 year old stood with 2 of his friends. They were praying with song. These precious gifts were singing "Jesus Loves The Little Children" at the top of their lungs, smiles of joy on their faces! They simply radiated the Gift of Life! My dear son has spiritually adopted an unborn baby to pray for during the next 9 months. Somewhere out there in the world, there is a little boy named Harry Michael who has yet to be born. He has a guardian angel in my son who will be praying him to birth. How powerful the prayers of children, themselves so fresh from God!
Then I looked down at my feet, where my own precious baby sat in his stroller. He quietly kept himself happy and occupied for that hour. This is my 2 year old energizer bunny 2. He loves to be in the middle of life! This is his 3rd participation in Life Chain and it is my hope that someday during his lifetime there will be no more need of Life Chains any where else in the world. Even when it started raining he just lifted his precious face to the sky and laughed with joy! No one complained about the rain.
What a sight to see so many FATHERS standing on the side of the road, praying! My own dear husband standing there among them, praying that the Holy Spirit would touch the lives of all women, and the people in their lives who might be, are or were touched by abortion. He told us afterwards that the rain was God's tears over the fact that we still have to stand on the side of the road to pray about something as horrible as the killing of unborn babies-HIS precious gifts to us thrown away like so much trash after a party.
I urge you to participate in Life Chain 2008 on October 5th next year! Your prayers and the prayers of your family are desperately needed!
I did take some group photos and I hope to get them posted soon!
