It's Thanksgiving 2007! Today I'm surrounded by testosterone laden menfolk and canines. My husband and his brother are out playing (with the) cars and trucks. The 15 year old boy and his 14 year old friend are out skateboarding. The 8 year old boy is outside getting into trouble somewhere (he's supposed to be practicing riding a bike but I think he's either in a tree or on a skateboard. The 2 year old boy is vegging a little in front of the t.v. He's been outside all morning. The dog-who woke us up at o'dark-thirty this morning so he could go out and play in the cold (he's a husky) has helped me load the dishwasher (he's the pre-rinser) and recycle the trash (he ate all the tamale husks). I think he's babysitting the 2 year old now. The weather is beautiful today.
Last night, a cold front (yea!!!) blew through just as we got to our friend's house to have our Thanksgiving Ceremony. They have a lovely big patio that fit all 17 of us wonderfully. The 4 teenage boys did a great job putting up plastic sheeting to keep out the wind and rain. The rain stopped just as we sat down to our festivities. We all had a great time and stuffed ourselves silly with great food.
Our son, Zach is spending Thanksgiving in Wisconsin with a NET buddy. We just found out via the news this morning that Kyra's ship was finally granted port in Hong Kong. She was so bummed yesterday when they had originally been denied and were heading back out to sea.
Later on today, the menfolk will watch the Dallas Cowboy game...that's a tradition that goes back a long long long way. We're having Hebert's deboned/stuffed chickens for dinner. One's stuffed with cornbread dressing, the other with a shrimp dressing. I love it....the only thing left to throw away will be the string holding them together!
Happy Thanksgiving!
