Ok, we've been doing "alternative" schooling for the past month (who could school with 2 long lost siblings back at home, trips to grandparents, Christmas and New Years.....). Tomorrow, as hard as it will be with the older boys still here, we will be jumping back into regular schoolwork. (When I mentioned that ds hasn't had school for a month a comment was made about falling behind. I then asked the question: "falling behind whom?".......that was a stumper......we heard no more comments after that).
Word for the Week is PRECEDED taken from this verse from next Sunday's (Epiphany) Gospel:
After their audience with [Herod] [the magi] set out. And behold, the star that they had seen at its rising PRECEDED them, until it came and stopped over the place where the child was. Matthew 2:9
SAINTS to study this week are:
St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory Nazianzen, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, St. John Neumann and the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
Our Goal/Value for the week will be HELPFULNESS
To focus on this week/month:
HOW TO BEHAVE:
Be kind and gentle in your manners.
Do always as your parents bid you. Obey them with a ready mind and a pleasant face.
Have a scrupulous regard to neatness of person. Broken strings and tangled hair are signs that children are not very industrious in any of their habits.
Next to goodness, strive to obtain knowledge. Never forget that by practice and perseverance, you can learn anything.
