Today was Museum Day! Cameron had a class on bones and skulls, then we had some time to wander the museum for a bit. During the chaos of Spring Break, Holy Week, running here and there, the stroller got left at home
. Isaac in the stroller is quiet, well behaved and pretty laid back. Isaac out of the stroller is busy, independent, exploring EVERYTHING and not afraid to go off on his own. Needless to say it was an interesting day. After the "wandering/chase Isaac all over the museum" time, we got to go to the Planetarium for a movie. Cameron and Isaac both enjoyed it but it made me a little whoozy at times. Then we had a nice lunch in the greenspace-the weather was nice. After that we visited the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit. It was pretty interesting but what to do-the majority of the exhibit was "do not touch".....Isaac doesn't read yet. It was one of the few times I didn't mind spending $6 a person for such as short exhibit. I made sure to pick up a book about the exhibit on the way home so Cameron and I could discuss it more in a "controlled" environment.
Then we went to ride the new Zoo Train. Isaac is really into trains and when he saw that bright red, new, shiny train come through the park I just had to make that train ride happen. Ever since his train party that has been all he dreams about and talks about. Well, we got to the ticket counter only to find they didn't take checks or cards....only cash. I had $5 on me. Tickets were $2.50 each-for all ages. Cameron did the math and discovered...sadly...we wouldn't be able to ride the train today. Isaac was standing there confused and bubbling over about the train he could reach out and touch, but couldn't ride. As we turned to leave, this angel came up to us and handed us $2. We dug out 50 cents, then excitedly bought our train tickets just as they started seating passengers. We thanked the nice lady and told her we would offer a prayer of thanksgiving for her tonight. She seemed pleased. Now we have to be sure to pay it forward as soon as possible.
Home to find out hubby needs surgery on his knee. He scheduled it on the same day as our local homeschool conference which we are scheduled to both attend and work a booth at. hmmmmmm.....I think he also scheduled a followup for the 15 year old on that day as well.........hmmmmmmm
Out to soccer practice, again with the 3 year old and no stroller. Fun. He was tired and cranky but kept wanting to play. He ended up collapsing on the field in tears for a while.....home to a cranky 15 year old, a messy house and kids needing baths.....badly.
