Our oldest son, Zachary is actively working on getting into the seminary this fall.  He feels God calling him to the vocation of priesthood (YEA!).  The next son, Alex, has several ideas in mind for his future which include the following: Sniper for the Marines, a SWAT team, Mechanical Engineer, and of course Professional Baseball Player.....according to him, he could also do a combination of all these things.....knowing Alex, he probably could.  That is the "proud parent moment".....

Here's the "moment".......we're sitting at Taste of Texas last night for the anniversary dinner when the boys announce to us that they now have it all worked out.....when Zach is ordained, Alex should just about be through with college, so they have now decided that whichever parish Zach is assigned to, Alex will go be the Youth Minister there!

Ok, that is the "scary beyond all reason" moment! My boys are GREAT boys.  The are awesome blessings!  Together, they don't have a serious bone in their collective bodies!!!!!  If you are old enough, you might remember an old cartoon with the two blackbirds.....always getting into and making trouble (Heckle and Jeckle?) ?  How about the cartoon with the two chipmonks?  Abbot and Costello?, Butch and Sundance? Huck and Tom? Ringing any bells people?  When their sister is with them, they embody the 3 Stooges and the 3 Amigos.......

And if this doesn't cinch the matter, on the way home, they were already trying to figure out how Zach could:

 a)sing an entire Mass using popular theme music...(I choked on the "simpson's version") and

 b) how to come up with an entire homily using lines from movies. 

Are you scared yet?  Then also take into account that the way these two boys show their "undying love for each other" is a full force body slam to the ground mixed in with various and assorted WWF wrestling techniques.  Somehow, watching the pastor and the youth minister wrestling on the parish lawn just seems "weird".......

Somehow, although noble their cause might be, this scares me-because I think they were serious!

Ok, Ok, just kidding-yes that would make us VERY proud BUT come on, you just HAVE to see the humor in this.........(wonder what they would do to the country if they were running for Pres and Vice Pres.......).
