At the Homeschool Conference tonight I got to purchase almost all of our curriculum for next year!!! Even the one I thought would not be there WAS there-must have been God pushing us in the right direction-as you know from some of my previous blogs I was NOT happy with the history we used this year and was seriously debating between Mystery of History and Story of the World. Wouldn't you know it, we found Story of the World at one of the booths! Snatched it right up!
The company that sells Little Saints was there, but only had curriculum to view-you have to order BUT if you order at the conference they do NOT charge shipping and handling, so we'll go order that one tomorrow. Other than that, we purchased everything we need for next year except for some supplemental reading and some extra books that we might use with the Story of the World history program.
When I took Cameron up to the Seton booth and asked him to hold his arms out and started loading him up-he looked at me and said...."Ok mom....I'm scared now....."! BUT when we went to visit the Children of the Holy House booth to find out about their classes, I asked him if he would like to attend their school one day a week and he looked at me and said "I don't think so mom-I'd rather be homeschooled!" He was a little more agreeable when we told him that it would only be for "extra" stuff like Music Appreciation, Latin, Gregorian Chant.....stuff like that. It would also give me some extra one on one time with Isaac. Nothing is final, it is a lot to consider-the cost, the drive time, gas, lots of road construction, and an entire day NOT spent on core curriculum. We will pray about it-God will lead us on the path.....
