Yesterday was such an adventure! We had such an awesome storm come through! Thunder, lightning, rain, wind, hail.....the works! We lit candles, prayed for safety for our travelling family members and played. I cooked an awesome dinner-and we had home made butter for our bread-made by Cameron and Isaac! Then we watched "The Shadow" together, while Isaac built train yards on the coffee table. We talked about how "The Shadow" used to be an old time radio show....way before tvs were ever invented....it was a REALLY hard concept for him to get....in his life there have only been big screens and plasmas! A radio is something in your car.....if you don't have cd's to listen to!
Today we will be taking the dog to the kennel and finishing up laundry and packing (done secretly to help keep the 9 year old surprised!). This evening we are supposed to grill some steaks if the weather holds up-Xavier just has this little bitty charcoal grill on the deck....then we leave to go get Alex from the Chancery. It has been really quiet here without him! Found out that we'll be staying in a hotel on our trip-that REALLY helps. While I REALLY love my In-Laws, reliable toilets and bathtubs that don't terrify the baby are always a big thing....hotel has a pool-so added bonus folks.....sleeping in a room with air conditioning.....priceless!
