Proverbs 31
27: She watches the conduct of her household, and eats not her food in idleness.
*This verse means so much to me. I know how important it is to keep an eye on the conduct of my household....and by all means not just the children! As my children are young and growing up, they need to know what is acceptable behavior and what is not. This helps teach them right from wrong as well. God's word is full of important teachings on how we should conduct ourselves. Whereever we are, I am always watching out for how my children are behaving and am pretty quick to call them on both wrong AND right behavior....since it is also important to let them know what they are doing right.
Eating not my food in idleness is also important. I've always heard the term "idle hands are the devil's playground" and I certainly don't want to give him a place to play! Usually my hands are always busy, whether with school stuff, housework, computer stuff, stitching, rosary making, etc. Even when eating real food-I'm usually doing something...checking email, visitng, spending time with family, etc. My kids know not to state the phrase "I'm bored" around me.....I can take care of that problem right quick and in a hurry!
