This morning was Day 3 of VBS-Power Lab....right up Cameron's alley!!! They've made bouncy balls, slime, and of course done several science experiments...he's very happy! Isaac has made a First Aid kit and playdoh and a ship in a bottle. Alex is playing in the band and Zach's been helping at the night time session.
To carry on with this theme at home, today Cameron made a heat lamp to do experiments with. He did 1 experiment and started work on another. He hammered a nail into a can so that it fit, then used his brand new plyers to hold the nail and heat it up and then try to put it back into the hole in the can.....doesn't fit.....so we learned about molecules getting excited and expanding and all that. The other experiment involved painting half of the inside of a can black...he'll be testing heat and cold absorption...the paint is currently drying.
Then we finger painted and then did some crayola artwork which led to us coloring our Power Lab VBS t-shirts with crayons (I will set them tonight).
The boys have straightened? up the living room and are now out jumping on the trampoline.
No clue about dinner tonight....one of the drawbacks of having VBS, Drivers Ed, and Zach working until 7pm every night this week.
We are on chapter 11 in Swiss Family Robinson. Cameron is sitting better for the reading time. We'll be working with bows and arrows for this activity but I'm going to wait until next week when we aren't so busy. We'll also be enjoying pineapples (I prefer mine dipped in chocolate) and potatoes.
Zach's birthday is Friday so we'll be celebrating at my parents.....MaMa has challenged the boys to Laser Tag!
***Update.....we had KFC and watched Ratatouille....I cut my toe while doing dishes so Dr. Cameron practiced First Aid and fixed me right up....then Xavier helped Cameron convert the big box from his Father's Day gift (big rolling tool cart) into a Movie/Puppet Theatre! I just checked on the boys...they are sitting in the box (cut into a widescreen of course...nothing but the best for my guys!), eating popcorn and watching "Hoody" (Toy Story 2).....gotta love 'em!!!!!
