We made it through another travelling weekend! Here's some highlights:
* Hubby had to go to Urgent Care because his blood pressure was up and he was having dizziness.
*The baby shower was a success-all the sisters "played nice".
*The boys retained their titles as Lazer Tag kings....while the pregnant sister whooped up on everyone at mini-golf.
*Step-Dad either pulled or tore a ham string while bowling.
*Got home safe and sound and exhausted-only to be hit with a big storm.
Some dear friends who had been watching our house over the last 2 weekends invited us over for dinner and relaxing. Some other dear friends lost power so we invited them along, too. While we were there, Kyra called to give her dad a piece of her mind about the Urgent Care visit.....if you've ever seen the Harry Potter moves, there are a couple of scenes where one of the kids gets into trouble and "mom" or "grandmam" sends a letter that proceeds to "chew them out"......that is what it sounded like when Kyra was talking to her dad....we ALL heard the conversation!!!
Our friend Jon volunteers with our local EMS service and had gone on a call (or two) earlier yesterday and he had his "walkie talkie" with him out on the patio. There was something that required some trucks and Life Flight going on and Isaac happened to walk by when the dispatcher was talking. Isaac was so cute....he leaned over the walkie talkie and kept saying "I'll be right there"....maybe a future EMT or Firefighter? Who knows.....
Anyway, VBS is over, the Baby Shower is over, we're glad to be home, the dog is glad to be home (2 weekends in the kennel), there's laundry to get done and then Xavier and Zach leave tomorrow for another trip to the Valley to do all the "financial" stuff for college. I will be staying here to provide some stability.....
On tap for this week: Glazed Over pottery today, dollar movies on Tuesday and Wednesday, Orthodonist, Choir practice, T-Shirt painting, and Drivers Ed (if Mr. Vickers has recovered from his own medical emergency from Friday!) and then First Friday Mass.
Glad to be home!
