Yesterday we went to see Nim's Island. What a wonderful movie! I think every single one of us could relate to it in some way!!! I knew I was pretty much stuck with this homeschool thing when I realized I was making mental notes of making an entire unit study based on this movie!!!!
Today is Shirley Temple Day....so if you have one of her movies, enjoy!
Today we have a busy schedule: We're off to go see Alvin and the Chipmunks, then we'll be going to Alex's school to pick up his physical form for football/baseball. Next it's our local Catholic bookstore to pick up Alex's books for Theology. Then we'll do lunch and then it's off to choir practice. We're tie-dying t-shirts tomorrow so we'll need to stop and get shirts and dye. Still haven't gotten Zach's birthday present so I'm going to do my best to get that today and of course the car needs some gasoline!
I hope today finds you enjoying your summer and your families!

***Evening Update***
"The best laid plans of mice and men..." Got to the movies to see Alvin...all sold out. No problem-for a few dollars more we got to see W.A.L.L.E.-great movie..lots of meaning there...Isaac and Cameron loved it! Walked out of the movie to find we were late to choir. Drove to Alex's school-it closed for the day 15 minutes before we got there.....got to choir practice (with 2 teens going nuts and 2 whiny younger kids singing the "I'm tired and hungry" harmony) only to find a funeral going on and no one knew where choir had been moved to. Missed the book store completely. Got back on our side of town to find it thundering and lightening and raining... so I made lemonade out of my lemons.....dropped both teens off at my friend Ginny's (THANKS) and took the younger two home to nap. Hubby came home frustrated with work so he did some meditating in the garage with some tools. I went to Michaels to get stuff for our annual T-Shirt making day tomorrow. Hubby called as I was leaving-he was two blocks down trying to get Zach's car started.....we did Chickfila for dinner.....the guys are all vegging and bonding together so I'm going to sew. I did get to pick up a cool gift for my Zachary-perfect for a 19 year old going away to college ..."The Encyclopedia of Immaturity"...check it out.....
