Today's verse comes from the book of 2Kings 5:1, 9-10, 14
This is the story of Naaman, commander fo the army of the king of Aram. Even though he was a mighty warrior, he suffered from leprosy. Naaman came to Elisha and Elisha sent him to wash seven times in the river Jordan. When Naaman had done as Elisha commanded, his flesh was restored like the flesh of a young boy, and he was clean.
Have you ever settled down into a relaxing bubble bath at the end of a long, hard day? If you are a busy mom like myself, you'll know that rarely happens, but oh, don't we long for it! The healing of Naaman's leprosy in the waters of the Jordan was a direct result of his faith. He believed in the power of Elisha's God.
Our baths can also be instruments of spiritual healing. As we soak in calming waters, we can relive the moment of our baptism, and with Naaman, rise out of the waters to new life.
*Recall the last long, healing bath you took.
*What did you think about?
*Of what were you healed?
